I am curious of anyone has used "Bintan Tours" and stayed away from the resort area at Trikora Beach. Are the facilities truly basic or are there some ammenities that would make the trek worth it. I don't like resorts per say, however, have the family to consider...

I am aware that I have to book somekind of external tour with the hotel to venture out from the Bintan resorts area.

Tanjung Ubai seems nearer. Would this be a good place to go for a day tour. Or could someone advice which area is near and would be ideal for a day tour i.e. we would prefer places with pasar malaams etc. How far is Tanjung Pinang from the resorts? Thank you.

I am planning to stay at either the villa at Indra Maya or Bintan Lagoon. From websites, the villa at Indra Maya looks nicer with a 4 seater buggy provided. Could anyone please advice whether the Indra Maya is better than Bintan Lagoon Villa.

I'm going to spend some time in Bintan and at the same time I still need to do my work. Phone and Internet is very vital for me. As for banking, to send/receive money e.g Westerm Union, MoneyGram.

I m considering going to Bintan early nxt mth...but the hotel rates are abit high, range from $400-500.*ouch*

Nirvana beach, its pretty cheap but jus worried about the quality of hotel. Love the idea of Bintan Lagoon, but I tink rates are 500bucks, but it has the firefly tour and horse riding??

Anyone know whether it is possible to go for these kinda Firefly tour if we stay at Nirvana beach? Are the resort close to each other?Is bintan a small little island by itself and nothing much and must stick to the resort u are in? Then wont it be nothing to do if ur resort has no facilities??

Hi, I'm going to Bintan from singapore next month, 2 days in Bintan Mayang sari and then heading to Medan. Are there any travel agent that selling domestic air-ticket in Bintan ? Also if i have to go to Batam to buy ticket what is the cheapest way to go to Batam from Bintan resort? Is it free to use the resort shuttle bus to go Tanjung Pinang ?

I'm bringing my boyfriend over to Nirwana Beach Club (how I wish I could afford better accomodation ):) for a 2D1N stay during Dec, & I was wondering if there is any place with good & cheap seafood nearby?? Is it safe to cab to the city area outside??

i wld like to plan a spa day trip with husband to Bintan.. anyone can recommend a good one with reasonable price? The ideal one is spa by the sea or nature.. After spa, can walk walk along the beach..

Hi! I am travelling to Bintan on the 1st week of November. I am traveling with an infant and 1 young child. Is the ferry ride (BRF) safe from Singapore to Bintan? Even at the 8pm trip? or are the waters rough during this season?

I have seen many reviews on Nirwana resort and Mayang Sari resort..
But why isn't anyone mentioning about Bintan Lagoon??

Hmm.. actually i was planning on a night stay at Bintan during Sep.. And i was thinking of staying in Bintan Lagoon, until i saw many reviews on the above 2 resorts...i start to reconsider my choice...
Can anyone tell me which one is best out of the 3? I would prefer to be nearer to beautiful beach... As i have not been to Bintan before, i am not too sure what to expect too.Which beach is the most beautiful? And how far is the 3 hotels/resorts from each other? I heard there is nothing much we can do there.. so i just thought of going there for a night purely for relaxation.. Maybe those who have been there can kindly suggest something for me?
I heard there is firefly tour, or something like that.. have anyone visit it before?

I wanna visit Bintan from Singapore. I got a package at Mayang Sari (garden view) which includes spa (worth S$140, i believe), ferry tics , 2 breakfasts, 1 dinner at Calyspo. This package costs a total of $360. Can anyone advise me if this is worth it?

Hi. I would like to visit Indonesia from Singapore and I found out that Bintan Nirwana Beach Club has the cheapest accomodation. Is this place ok in terms of cleanliness, safety and location?
If not, can you suggest other alternatives?
Is 1-day visit possible?

My bf and i are planning a getaway to bintan on the 17th June. It will be a 2N stay. Therefore.. we would like to know..

What is the cheapest but safest place to stay in bintan? Nirwana Beach Club?
Where can we get fantastic seafood at a resonable price?
Is it safe to go snorkeling now that there are huge waves?
And i heard we can just drive a golf car(those used in golf to ferry ur clubs) around the island? Is it true?

I'm bring 4 kids along and is our 1st time there.
We are staying at Bintan Lagoon. Thus don't want to carry to much food stuffs.
I would like to know is there any shop nearby instead of the resort to get Fresh milk, bread or drinks? Will the cost the same as resort?

Anyone tried their snorkeling trip and how much?
How is the water now, as it's clear?
Can it be done on their beach w/out the trip?

I have been told that there are some issues with the sand flies on the beaches - anyone have any knowledge of this in the July period?

first time go to bintan by myself,
if i don't use the hotel's shuttle bus cos i must pay US$11/person not for free.

from bandar bentan ,hav a local shuttle bus run around the island
or go anywhere

and can u give a detail for me ?(eg.time schedue, price )

I was wondering if there are any water taxis from Singapore to Bintan Island. We are arriving at Changi Airport at 1710 and hope to make the last ferry which I believe is 2000. If not is there any other way to get to Bintan Island??

We are a family of five, two adults and three children aged 13,12 and 7. We have booked flights to Singapore on 29th March 2007 and would like to come to Bintan during the three weeks we are staying in Singapore, probably for a few days, midweek (for example: from Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a reasonably priced chalet by the beach for a family of four or five (mattrass on the floor for one of children not a problem).
