I want to travel between Ohrid and Tirana on October 17th or 18th. Does anyone know what transportation is available, how much it costs and how long it takes?

are there any tennis clubs in Tirana?and if yes where are there?

Are there after Ramadan parties in Albania like in all other countries? The end is 21 septembre and we are overthere then.

Where, if it is a yes, can you best see them and can you join something like that or is it just for families.

Hi I'm goin to Albania in October and need to know if they sell jars of baby food such as Cow&Gate, Heinz etc...I've been 4 times before but this is the first time with a baby so I never bothered to look before. Hopefully they do otherwise I'll be taking 20 jars of food in my suitcase!!!

i am arriving in tirana on the 4th of sep. at around 2.45pm and need to know if i can travel to saranda around that time or wait for an early morning bus.
are there any overnight buses?

it would save me having to stay in tirana for the night as i want to get to Corfu next day, and then i am coming back to albania and on to Macedonia and i have only nine days.

What is the time you need to go from Gjirokastres to Igoumenitsa by bike?
We want to take the boat to Venice from there.

We are 4 bikers with KTM adventure's and are going to Albania in sebtember to drive in the remote area's and mountains on gravel or worse roads. Can you get petrol out there? Our bike's drive about 200 km on a tank offroad.

I have some questions if someone has time. Thanks to "Macedonian UK" I have got most of my questions answered! We will either stay in Durres or Tirane. Which town would be better? Which one has better hotels? Are there motels that are better or could we stay in a pensiune (bed and breakfast)? Also we are distributing free gospel literature and we don't know how to write "take and read, free". Maybe..."marr e lexaj, gratis"? Thanks in advance for the help!

We will be traveling from Skopje to Durres by car. Can anyone give me an idea on the border crossing...is it difficult? Also the road from Skopje to Durres is it good or bad? Through the mountains? Thanks!

We're visiting Albania in August and want to get a bus from Tepelene to Berati. I have the Bradt travel guide but can't find any info in there, or on the internet. On the map of Albania the road between the two towns appears to go through the mountains, so I imagine that any bus service would be pretty slow. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

I am planning to go in Croatia from Skopje.Last year i've also been in Croatia and i travel from skopje to durres than to shkoder and ulcinj, and the road was very good. But i think that if i travel from skopje to prizren than kukes and than shkoder is more quickly, and i want to know if the road is good, is it a mountain road, is it fool with turnings?

Maybe I could say it with 'a e ke problem...' or 'mundem..' (can I) ... foto' but I don't know the verb and I'd like to know the exact sentence!

We are planning our trip to Albania. We will stay in Tirana for two or three days and then we want to see more!

We are planning trip from Tirana to Vlora and maybe as far as Sarande.

Do you recommend hiring a car (or is that even possible..), we have drived in Romania, Italy, States etc.

My second question is that is it easy to find buses to Vlora and again next bus along the coast line? (Still remembering our frustrating trip in countryside of Romania and those bus routes that never took place..)

I will be in Macedonia with my son about two weeks from now. From Skopje we are planning to take a bus to Prizren. From Pirizren we want to continue to Kukes and Shkodra. Are there busses we could take, or would we have to take a taxi or hire a car with a driver? Are Prizren taxis allowed to take passengers to Kukes, or would we have to take one taxi to the border and another from the border to Kukes? I would be very happy if a fellow traveller or someone living in the region can help me with information about this. Thank you!

Hi there, wonder if anyone can help. We live in Macedonia in Ohrid and want to go to Lake Komani. We have our own car and understand that you can take this on the ferry. We are happy to travel to Shkrodra to do this but wonder if there is any other way. Maybe we could go from Debar in Macedonia across and then take the ferry ending up in Shkrodra.

I am planning a trip to Albania and Macedonia last week and am just finalising some details.

Does anyone know what time and where the buses leave from Tirana to Struga and then from Struga to Ohrid?

Also, on the Macedonian side, from Ohrid to Mavrovo (where is the best place to stop there) and then onto Skopje?

Additionally - is it easy to get to Galicnik from Mavrovo?

My travel buddy and I are working on planning our trip to the Balkans in September 2009. We’ll be there for about 3 weeks, starting in Sarajevo and ending in Athens. I was hoping to get some feedback on our itinerary from those of you who live or have traveled the area. I know it is pretty aggressive, but still there are a lot of places we’re not able to fit in. Does this seem reasonable:

We’d love to visit Ohrid and the south of Albania, but have decided that a visit to Kosovo would be more “unique”. Although southern Albania isn’t Croatia, we’ll see lots of beaches in Croatia so are comfortable with that tradeoff. I am curious to hear anyone’s thoughts – we are still in the planning stages, so changes are possible!

at the 23th of April i am visiting Tirana. Can we take the bus from the airport to the center of Tirana and what is the number of the bus? Do we have to buy a ticket in the bus or somewhere else?

And we would like to go out to a nightclub or dancing. But we like to go out where all the incrowd people are going as well (no tourist places!) Can anybody help me out. I checked some places like Charl's bistro, pravda lounge and the living room, but i guess that is just for tourists and rich Albanian people?
We like to meet some people from Tirana and not tourists..

I am spending seven days in Albania and Macedonia in May, travelling from Tirana to Skopje. Am planning on a couple of days in Tirana, before hitting the road to Lake Ohrid, where I will be based for a couple more days and then making my way up to Skopje, possibly via the Mavrovo National Park for a day or two.

What would you recommend as the best sights/things to do in that timeframe? Any good hostels/hotels/restaurants/bars to stop off at along the way.

Also, what is the best form of transport, when does it run and how far/long does it take to get between these places?
