Pls can anyone help me out? We are a group of Maltese friends travelling to Tirana from Athens via Albanian Airline. We are leaving from Malta to Athens with Airmalta. We have been informed that we cannot settle payment with an online bank transaction. So how on earth can we pay??

Can anyone tell me, where the King House bar in Tirana is?

I'll be there on Sunday, and I can really eat a lot.

Can anyone recommend a hotel with appeal in Vlore?
Does anyone know where exactly the Hotel Pavaresia (or Pavarsia) is? Is it in the town centre? Is it near the beach?
Are the hotels in the Uji i ftöhte (Cold Water) area within easy walking distance of the town itself, does anyone know this area?
Or could anyone tell me where to download a map or streetplan of Vlore town so I can try to get my bearings - none seem to exist in internet, why is this??!!

I'm going to be visiting Albania for the first time in early July - unfortunately, I've had to scale back my earlier plans and will now only have 4 whole days in the country.

I'll certainly be taking the overnight ferry from Bari to Durres and then returing by ferry to Bari - this is the only definite part of the plan so far.

There seem to be three options:

1. Leaving Durres to go to the south of the country before returning to take the ferry back.

2. Arriving in Durres and staying around that area before departing from Durres.

3. Going south down the coast and then returning to Italy from Corfu.

The first option seems unfeasible due to what I've heard about journey times in Albania. The second is the easiest but it seems a shame not to see either Butrint or Gjirokastra. Or perhaps I'm wrong about this, and 4 days here would be interesting? The third appeals most but is it going to be too much of a rush given the few days I have in Albania? I don't really want to spend too much time just travelling.

Any suggestions or advice? And any info on buses between Durres and cities other than Tirana? All the info about times and distances I've found so far had Tirana as the destination.

I'm planning on staying a few days in Sarande in August.
I'd like to see Girokaster but rather than stay the night I'd like to take some kind of bus or 'furgon' and do it in the same day.
Is that possible or am I mad?
Any tips on where they might leave from, timetables??¿¿, how many hours the journey takes etc. would be very welcome!

Can anyone tell me the train times from Tirana to Kotor or at least the approx cost of the journey? Thanks

I hear there are buses that leave from Tetovo, Macedonia, and head to Tirana, Albania. I was wondering when these buses left and how often. Also if the bus stopped at any town in Albania that I could catch a connecting bus to Gjirokaster from (Tirana is in the opposite direction and it seems pointless retracing ground). I have only a weekend to make it to Gjirokaster from Skopje.

Could I also get some info on where the shuttle buses for Tetovo leave from in Skopje?

I intend to drive from Dubrovnik to Meteora through Albania in August and would like to ask you three questions :

1. According to Michelin this trip takes 265 km in 4 hours along the E762 ( Shkoder, Tirane ), how realistic is that?

2. I´ve read here that you need to pay an insurance when entering the country, is that still up-to-date?

3. Are the roads in reasonable conditions and is it safe? We have a German plate but the car is a small Dayhatsu :P

Sorry if my questions are a bit naive, but I have to confess I´m a bit lost regarding which way to take from Croatia to Greece.

I wish to get a car with a driver(eg-a taxi or similar) to take my wife & me from the airport at Tirane to the Montenegran border. Also would you have any idea of the cost.

Is it possible to visit Ohrid, coming from Albania with an Albanian rented car?
What about the border crossing formalities?
As we'll visit Albania in August, we'd also appreciate to visit the Macedonian side of the Ohrid lake...

I know I can get a bus from Tirana to Shkoder but from there I don't know anything more. I want to get to Prizren/Pristina in Kosovo after so I need to know if there is any available transport from the North to there. If not (and I have to come back to Tirana to catch a bus to Pristina) it would be good to know how often the Komani ferry runs so I can plan when to go and when to return!

Planning to visit Tirana in September while spending our holidays in Montenegro, we would like to know where we can hire a car+driver to take us from Montenegro to Tirana (and back a day later). What will be the costs?

Hi There i have been dating an albaninan man for over a year now and we just got engaged he would like to get married in November 2008 but ive never met his parents etc only a few of his cousins and his uncle. I'm worried he's rushing things to come over and live with me over here. Although he says its the being apart for so long that gets him and it does break my heart when i leave him to come home again. So ive been thinking of having a quiet wedding in Albania in Novemeber and having a proper wedding in Northern Ireland is this possible? Also can anyone let me know what documents etc we will need to get married. I have tried ringing the Albanian Embassy but i never get anywhere with them. I would like to ask you - I´m goging to visit my Albanian friend during summer, and I decided to fly through Greece, because air-ticket are cheaper, could you please tell me, if there is regular bus from Thessaloniki to Saranda? ( I know there is for example such a bus from Athene.)

My family and I am going to visit Alabnia this Summer.We are goin to rent a car in Montenegro and drive to Albania. Is there any places we need to see ?

Hi to everybody! I am planning a trip to the balkans and i am thinking about going from Albania to Macedonia. I would like to go from Berat (they say it is wonderful) to Ohrid, but i don't know if it's possible without passing through Tirana and losing many hours travelling back... Does anybody know how to get from Berat to Ohrid??

We are going to taking an Easycruise in June which calls at Agioi Saranta. I have read that it is possible to get to Tirana for the day from there. Could anybody help me with this. We will arrive at about noon at Agioi Saranta and leave at 0800 the next morning.

Any advice gratefully received.

Also if anybody has any suggestions on anything else that may be good to do for this short time I would much appreciate that.
