Bali & Lombok (Komodo tour) Posted: Thu April 23, 2009 06:43 AM UTC
Hi,
I am in Bali in June and I am thinking about taking the ferry to Lombok and from there I would like to book at trip to see the komodo dragons. I see that
Perama tours & travel have this trip: HUNTING KOMODO by CAMERA 01+02 4N/5D.
Has anyone ever tried this trip or booked anything through Perama?
Best regards,
Anja

Booking flights to Lombok Posted: Thu September 4, 2008 02:25 PM UTC
I am travelling to Lombok in October and want to book a flight from Bali. Can anyone tell me which is the most reliable airline and is permatour in Kuta a reliable company to prebook your flights with. I have been told most of the flights are full for 17-10-2008 and only seats on 5.40pm flight available. I am worried if we get a late afternoon flight and it is cancelled, then we cant get there until next day. Alternatively there is an 8.00am with Indosesian Transport. Does anyone know these airlines and if they are reliable. I have read that they just cancel flights to Lombok all the time.

Gili Trawangan hotels Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 01:12 AM UTC
I have read good reviews about Dream Village on hotel Trwangan, however, the website given on most sites/books doesn't work. Can anyone confirm this hotel is still open and recommend it? Does it have a pool?
How does is compare to Villa Ombak?

Dream trip to Lombok help! Posted: Fri March 28, 2008 06:35 PM UTC
Hi there, I am Lee, a new member from London and thanks for reading my post! I am visiting Lombok in July for the first part of my journey before Bali and plan to spend 9 nights in Lombok. My plan is:
1) 3 nights in the south in the Novotel Lombok (managed to negotiate by phone a pool villa for US$190 nett with breakfast for two!)
2) 3 nights in Gili Meno in the Villa Nautilus
3) 3 nights in the Sheraton Senggigi
I have seen so many beautiful pictures of the south coast and would love to spend 3 full days with a driver and car exploring places east and west of Kuta - I am not a surfer but just like to see lots of nice scenery and snorkel. Is it enough? I am having problem deciding whether I should stay for 2 nights in Gili Meno and 4 nights in Senggigi instead? Is 3 nights enough for some exploration of the north of the island iwth a driver and car as I will not be doing any mountain climbing at Mount Rinjani? The thing is I am afraid 2 nights in beautiful Gili Meno is not enough - please advise?
Lastly, is there any driver with a good car that anyone has used that can be recommended and what are the rates I should expect to pay either in the Kuta Novotel region or in Senggigi?
Many thanks in advance!
Lee

Info needed, please, for 2 weeks in Lombok Posted: Sat November 3, 2007 02:55 PM UTC
We ( my husband & I)are planning to spend next February in Indonesia , 2 weeks visiting his family in Jakarta and the other 2 weeks on holiday somewhere. We have been to Bali previously and didn't think much of it. Kuta is my idea of hell! So this time we thought we'd try Lombok.
Does anyone know if Indonesian nationals get a discounted rate for hotel rooms and if so, what's the best way to book? Can anyone reccommend a hotel in Senggigi? We were thinking about the Sheraton, has anyone stayed there and whats the beach like? I want somewhere thats good for swimming so I can overcome my fear of snorkeling!! We also thought about spending 1 week on one of the gillis, so any suggestions please? Whats the weather like there in February?
Whats the best way to get to Lombok from Jakarta, and what are the fares like?
Sorry for so many questions, but after the Bali trip which was such a dissapointment, I want to get this holiday right and arrange most of it myself(instead of leaving it to my in-laws).

Where to change traveller's cheques Posted: Wed August 15, 2007 06:49 AM UTC
Hello again!
My holidays are coming closer and closer and I'm so looking forward to it! There are two questions I would like to ask you:
1) Where can I change Traveller Cheques? Is this only possible in Mataram or are there other places where I can do that?
2) I would love to go to a market and I already know that there is one in Kuta (Wednesday and Sunday if I remember right). Are there other places to go to the market?
Thank you!
Regards,
Sibylle
