Republic of Montenegro April in Montenegro.
Posted: Fri October 9, 2009 01:39 AM UTC
Myself & my friend are 2 straight 50+ guys going on 30. We will be in Montenegro next April for 2 nights only before moving on to Dubrovnik, and need to choose between Kotor or Budva as a base.

We're not interested in beaches, but appreciate scenery and like to walk round during the day and stop for a coffee or beer on a terrace and watch the world go by. In the evening we like to have a few drinks in several good pubs or bars, meet people and have a laugh until 12 or 1 a.m.

The worst thing that could happen is that we choose the wrong place and it is dead at 10 p.m.

Should we go to Kotor or Budva?

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Budva Dubrovnik Airport to Budva travel links?
Posted: Sun July 26, 2009 09:21 PM UTC
Hi, I will be flying to Dubrovnik Airport on Sunday 9th August, and will be looking to reach Budva for a weeks holiday before returning to Dubrovnik Airport on the Sunday 16th August.

Please could anyone advise on the travel links? I was under the impression there were regular bus journeys between Dubrovnik and Budva, but now it appears they are not as regular, and possibly not running at all on Sunday. Would there be any trains / buses running from either the airport, Cavtat, or Dubrovnik to Budva on the Sunday? And returning the following Sunday?

If so, should we book ahead?

Many thanks for any help.

For information, our plane arrives at Dubrovnik airport at 17:00, so we are hard pushed to get to Budva. The return departs the airport at 18:00 so more time on the 2nd Sunday to get back to the airport.

Republic of Montenegro Kotor beaches/swimming
Posted: Mon July 20, 2009 09:38 PM UTC
Hi! We're planning to be in Kotor for a few days in August. How is the swimming in the bay? Is it clean? We don't care about sandy beaches and actually prefer rocks. Are they other nearby areas worth looking into for swimming? And any suggestions for nude beaches/rocky areas as well?

Thanks!

Sveti Stefan Crvena glavica
Posted: Sun June 7, 2009 08:01 PM UTC
When in Montenegro, I stayed in an auto camp just past Sveti Stefan on the right. At the bottom of the camp there was a small restaurant. I've posted this in my tips, but I'd really like to know if there's a name for it. Also, I enjoyed talking to the guy's from Serbia that were working in there, so ultimately I'd like to see if there's contact information available somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Republic of Montenegro Who wants to explore Montenegro with me on August?
Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 05:58 PM UTC
Hello folks,

I am wondering if there is anyone out there who might be interested in a travel companion for Montenegro in August?

Montenegro is a perfect compact country for nature lovers and for hiking.
If we'll be 2-4 people we can rent a car. Anyway I'm flexible, hitch-hiking is an option.
Locals' companions is more than welcomed.

Republic of Montenegro Montenegro - Worth a Visit?
Posted: Tue May 12, 2009 10:50 AM UTC
Howdy Y'All,

I'm contemplating visiting Montenegro in July/August. While I've heard that it's a beautiful country, I'm struggling to find much more detail beyond that.

Could someone provide some highlights, whether it's worth a visit, for how long and is it cheap/expensive?

I'm also thinking of visiting Croatia, where would be more enjoyable?

Republic of Montenegro Bus Podgorica to Rozaje
Posted: Mon April 27, 2009 05:37 AM UTC
Hello,

Does anyone have information on bus schedules from Podgorica to Rozaje? We are hoping to get from Kotor to Peja (in Kosovo) by bus. Looks like taking a bus from Kotor to Podgorica will be easy. I have also found bus information on getting to Barane, but nothing on schedules to Rozaje.

Anyone have any information? We're thinking once we get to Rozaje, we can taxi over the border to Peja.

Planning on taking a trip next summer around the region. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the easiest way from either Budva or Kotor to Prishtina. Are there regular bus routes? Would it make more sense to first get a bus to Podgorica? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
We are planning to spend a week in either Stoliv or Prcanj in September and have a young child, we think both are quite tranquil and picturesque but want to go to the one with more variety of local restaurants and the village that is more ideal for young children. Does anyone have any experience of either of these villages? Also, being in a bay do these villages have limited sun!! Thanks for you help!!

Budva Budva - Tirana
Posted: Wed April 8, 2009 08:12 PM UTC
I read on this forum that there was a tour group that ran buses down to Tirana (via Skhoder) for tours and then comes back to Budva. I am looking for one way travel on this, and wanted to know if this bus still exists. I do not really care about the tours themeselves, just want easier transport than taking minibuses even if it costs more. Does anyone know the name of the company that does this and if it runs daily (it will be in mid June)?

Thanks
