| Republic of Serbia | Belgrade guides? Posted: Thu July 24, 2008 06:50 PM UTC
I will be going to Serbia again this coming sept 15. I will spend some time in Belgrade before going to a small village south of Belgrade. I have visited Belgrade a number of times with my brother. I would like to know more about Belgrade's and Serbia's history and sites when I arrive. Is there a guide that I can hire for maybe a day or so to show me the historical sites, explain them, and also to show me where some kool nite clubs are? I love the old Serbian music and am also a fan of techno music.

| Belgrade | Have you backpacked in Serbia without registering with police? Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 01:24 PM UTC
Have you backpacked in Serbia without registering with police?
How necessary it is to report to the police station to register as a foreigner if planning to stay in private accommodation (with friends) for a period of up to 3-4 weeks in Serbia? Apparently all foreigners need to register but usually hotels take care of it. Since I am not planning to stay in hotels during my stay in Serbia, I'm wondering how many travelers have managed to cross the border with Montenegro without any hassle. The rule is all foreigners staying in private dwellings must register with police within 24 hours of arrival in Serbia. Failure to do so may result in fines (or bribes) at the exiting borderpoint. |

| Republic of Serbia | Munich to Belgrade. How to get from one place to the other? Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 06:18 AM UTC
Hello,
I know i am asking for information a little early (traveling in december) but i always try to know as much as i can about what i am getting myself into. :) I will be arriving in Munich on December 9th and will be traveling to Belgrade using the cheapest means possible, only problem is that i don't know what those means are (yet). Bus?Train?Plane?Hitchhike? I was planning on renting a car in Munich, Germany and driving to Belgrade but it seems as though none of the agencies will allow you to cross the border into serbia with a rental car(not even for an additional fee). Any companies in germany that allow travel into serbia? Cao svima, Evo ovakva je situacija, mozda sam malo poranijo ali bolje ranije da saznam. Stizem u minhen 9og dec i trebam stici do beograda. Dal neko mozda zna neki povoljan nacin sem biciklom :P. |

| Republic of Serbia | Two questions about Belgrade, Serbia Posted: Thu July 3, 2008 11:48 AM UTC
Two questions about Belgrade, Serbia
1) Do they exchange Norwegian, or Swedish kroner at the currency shops in central Belgrade, or is just euros, and dollars they're after? 2) What's a good "SIM card pack" to purchase for calling local mobiles in Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia. It would be nice to keep the same number as I travel throughout the Balkans this summer. In Norway, I found Chess startpacke which was great because it cost only 100kroner, and included the same amount of airtime credit. I use it sporadically, and 3 months later (in Sweden, and Denmark) I still haven't needed to top up. I guess what I'm asking for is a similar setup for the Balkans. Thanks. |

| Golubac | Accommodation in Golubac Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 05:32 PM UTC
Hello,
I am going to visit Serbia in August, and I want to visit Golubac. However, I have no car, and limited to public transportation, so I want to sleep next to my destination. The Bradt travel guide and my internet searches mention only 1 hotel there - the Golubacki Grad Hotel, but I can't catch them on the phone nor do they answer my emails. Anybody know this hotel, or any other accommodation option that has an easy bus access to Golubac? Or maybe it is easy to find B&B while you get there? Thank :) |

Travelling from FYR (Macedonia) via Kosovo to Montenegro. Further travel around Bosnia and onto Zagreb. From Zagreb we want to travel by either bus or train to Belgrade. We heard that because we entered Kosovo first we might have problems at the Serbian border crossing. Has anyone experienced any problems having travelled to Kosovo first and then Serbia. We really want to visit Belgrade. Thanks.

| Pristina | I need an expert's help Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 12:30 AM UTC
Our son is going to be in Pristina all summer. We would like to plan to visit him halfway through. I'm having a hard time figuring out where would be the easiest place to meet him. That meaning, where is it easiest for him to get to.
Can he easily get to Dubrovnik and how long would it take him? Would Venice be better? Is there something faster for him? I would appreciate your suggestions. |
