Email and web over the air using a Blackberry in Uzice area Posted: Fri October 9, 2009 04:52 PM UTC
I plan again on going to Serbia early next year. I will bring my unlocked Blackerry cell phone . I will first visit Belgrade then it's off to the village of Karan (near city of Uzice). It appears looking at the cell phone maps that there is plenty of 3g available. I have T mobile here in the USA which has Telekom Serbia as its partner in Serbia. Will I indeed be able to get Email and Web over the air in the Uzice area? Or should I just go thru Telekom Serbia over in Serbia? I can get email and web over wifi just about any where in Belgrade. But could not the last time I was in Serbia in the village of Karan (near Uzice). Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Continental Belgrade Hotel Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 03:36 AM UTC
HI,
I will be staying in Continental Belgrade Hotel next week for an exhibition plus an extra weekend for sightseeing. I have a few questions:
1)What is there to do in Belgrade on a weekend?
2)The area surrounding Continental Hotel-are there any places to go by walking?
3)What is there to do at the nearby Sava Centre? Is it a shopping mall??
4)How far is Continental from Belgrade Fair Grounds? What is the best way to get there? By taxi? If so how much to pay??
Thanks.

Route Posted: Wed August 26, 2009 05:12 AM UTC
Dear friends, I am planning to visit Serbia in the near future. I will probably visit the following cities and national parks:
First arrived at Belgrade, from Belgrade to Novi Sad (stay in Novi Sad), 2 day trip to Fruska Gora (national Park) and Sremski Karlovci.
Then back to the south for Nis (stay in Nis), a day trip to Mediana, another day trip to Davolja Varos. After that I will go to Macedonia.
Is the above route possible to carry out?
What about the transportation (by bus or train)?
How long does it take to travel from Nis to Belgrade?
I am concerning about the bus from the south of Serbia to Macedonia.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Playing soccer in Beograd Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 08:48 PM UTC
Zdravo,
I've been in Belgrade for nearly a month now and I will be staying for another two weeks at least. So, I am looking for a soccer team to train with for the next few weeks until I return home. I would appreciate it if anyone who had any information about this or plays for a team who would be willing to allow me to train/play with them for a while could contact me by posting here. I play football at home and I need to train with a team while I am here.
I have a Serbian mobile number through which I can be contacted further.
Thanks,
Luke

Pristina in a day Posted: Sun August 2, 2009 08:25 PM UTC
Can anyone give me some suggestions for what to see and do in (or around) Pristina for one day? Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time, but I do want to see whatever I can. I'm not so interested in art/museums/etc. Is there anything outside of the city (but close to the city) that would be worth a day trip?
Thanks!

Flights from England to Belgrade Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 08:42 PM UTC
Hi Folks;
We live in Northern England. It's easy to fly to Schipol, for example, and other European hub airports. Has anyone any suggestions for routes from Europe to Belgrade, rather than flying from Heathrow?
Cheers,

Budapest-Belgrade/Novi Sad. Train or bus? Posted: Wed June 3, 2009 12:19 PM UTC
So I am going to Serbia again in August and I figured its cheapest to fly to Budapest and take a train or bus to Novi Sad or Belgrad. I cant decide whether to take the train or the Gea Tours minibus.
Im currently leaning towords the bus, because they would pick me up at the Budapest airport and I've heard it only takes 4 hours to get to Novi Sad (where I would meet up with my Serbian friends and continue the journey to other parts of Serbia with them).
Is there a reason why the train would be better, apart from the price? I have never taken a train trip thats longer than 2 hours.

Who wants to explore MONTENEGRO with me on August? Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 06:16 PM UTC
Hello folks,
I am wondering if there is anyone out there who might be interested in a travel companion for Montenegro in August?
Montenegro is a perfect compact country for nature lovers and for hiking.
If we'll be 2-4 people we can rent a car. Anyway I'm flexible, hitch-hiking is an option.
Locals' companions is more than welcomed.

I am arriving in Belgrade at around 8pm, and would like to get to Kovacica after that. Are there still buses that go there, or would I need to get a taxi? How much would a taxi cost? Would I need to book one in advance?

Ecka Family Research Posted: Tue May 26, 2009 07:58 AM UTC
Hi all,
I have some questions once again, I did post about this along time ago, however my trip was postponed.
I am looking at going to Ecka this weekend to do some research on my family. I have some limited information on the family name that I will of course bring along. I am wondering if anyone knows the visiting hours of the Romanian Orthodox Church located there. As well, we will be needing a place to stay; what can we expect for a double room in a decent hotel.
Also, I have seen some families in the town with the same last name; in a town this small, what is my best chance to try and locate any of these people once I get there? I speak NO Serbian at all, however will be with a Romanian speaker( and from what I can see there with the amount of Romanians, we should be just fine?)
If there are any members that can give me some guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Christian

Transport from Prizren to Albania Posted: Sat May 23, 2009 10:04 AM UTC
Hello,
I will be in Macedonia with my son about two weeks from now. From Skopje we are planning to take a bus to Prizren. From Pirizren we want to continue to Kukes and Shkodra. Are there busses we could take, or would we have to take a taxi or hire a car with a driver? Are Prizren taxis allowed to take passengers to Kukes, or would we have to take one taxi to the border and another from the border to Kukes? I would be very happy if a fellow traveller or someone living in the region can help me with information about this. Thank you!
