Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 07:39 AM UTC
Dear all Vters,

I really need a BIG BIG favour from all of you. My friends and I (total of 11 person) will be heading to Surabaya on 11 Dec - 14 Dec 2008, and we had plan NOTHING yet! We have no idea where to stay, we have no idea what to do.

Can any of you give me some idea of what to do and where to stay, ohh, as for where to stay, we prefer to be staying in apartment / resorts where everyone will be in the same place?

Hope to hear from you guys soon!!

Cheers~

Surabaya east javanese cuisine
Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 01:32 AM UTC
hi

i have found indonesia to be a fascinating place and the domestic cuising always holds a special place in my heart.

are there special features in the east javanese cuisine that differentiates it from say padang food or the nasi campur e.g.

i also plan to spend three days in surabaya which may be too long for surabaya. could anybody please suggest suitable side trips. is it more advisable to base oneself in surabaya and do a trip to other areas or would it be better to do overnight trips.

Surabaya confused.. confused

good people of VT...
really need some input. i'll be travelling to surabaya - solo - jogja - bandung on 1st feb. ive been having some problem trying to figure out the surabaya route. will be arriving from KL at noon..and the plan was to go mount bromo (the next morning). my question :

1. would taking a bus adviseable? or would taking a guided package (which includes accomodation & transportation all the way up to mt bromo) a better option. how much should i expect to pay for such package?

2. from malang to solo.. is it ok to take a night bus (since its an 8 hour ride)? or should i take the train?

thanks!

Surabaya How to arrange trekking Mount Arjuna & Welirang peaks?
Posted: Sun October 7, 2007 02:00 PM UTC
Two of us are planning to trek up the peaks of Mount Arjuna & Welirang.
As we are on very tight schedule, we don't want to spend a lot of time arranging guide etc. and negotiating when we arrive.

So what would be the most efficient & reliable & affordable way to organise this 4day/3 night trek? Any recommendations? thanks!
