Ubud Help finding a friend
Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 01:36 AM UTC
Hello, I'm trying to get in touch with some friends we met in Ubud in 2006. Our daughter went to school with their daughter at the Pelangi School. Their names are John, Novi and the daughter is Nakita. Sorry, no last name. If anybody knows them, or more important, can get in touch with them, it would be a great favor if you could give them my e-mail (stbollin@hotmail.com). Tell them the Americans traveling around the world with their daughter Annika wants to contact them before we come back to Bali. Thanks.

I'm a big pampering fanatic, especially after 10 months of deployment. Has anyone indulged in any of the treatments at this resort's spa?

Hello :-)

Could anyone out there advise me for the following resorts, having difficulties to make decision;

1)Alila (Superior / Duluxe room)
2)Arma (Superior villa)
3)Tjampuhan Spa (Agung/Raja room)
4)Ubud Village Hotel

Price is a factor to be considered but still comfort and luxury is playing in my head....not to forget the distance to Ubud town.

Hi, I am wondering if any has stayed at Greenfields in Ubud. Friends are staying at the Tegal Sari however they are completely booked out and the Greenfields is next door. We will be there for two nights in April - 2 adults and 1 12 yo. Also is the Tegal Sari and Greenfields in walking distance to things in Ubud. I have been reading on the internet people's disappointment in have to get taxi's everywhere.

Thanks in anticipating for your replies

Ubud Ubud Accommodation....
Posted: Mon January 14, 2008 09:31 PM UTC
My friends have asked me to find some accommodation for them in Ubud as I have travelled to Bali quite a few times. I am trying to locate a website for Cendana Resort & Spa in Ubud but have had no luck. Does anyone know of a website or email address for this hotel?

Also if anyone has stayed at the Pertiwi Resort or Champlung Sari both on Monkey Forest Road would you please let me know what you thought of both Hotels ie. cleanliness, cost, location and any general comments.

I previously stayed at Artini II Cottages on Jalan Hanoman which is a gorgeous little hotel and brilliantly priced. However, the only downfall is that it's a bit of a walk to get to the restaurants and shopping on Monkey Forest Road, hence why my friends are looking for accommodation on Monkey Forest.

Thanks....

Ubud Hotels in Ubud
Posted: Mon October 22, 2007 05:49 AM UTC
Does anybody know any good hotels in Ubud around $80USD a night. I found a nice one but after looking on a few sites I see it is not very good and has old photos. I am plannign a really nice birthday trip and do not want to stay somewhere dirty. I want to stay close or in Ubud preferably with a plunge pool or if not that then an outside shower.

any suggestions?

Ubud Lodging for a fairly large group
Posted: Thu July 19, 2007 11:58 AM UTC
After searching for budget accomodation, i have yet to see a posting for accomodations suitable for short stay (2-4 nights) for a group of approx 10. Are there any recommendations for houses/homestay/guesthouses that can accomodate this size? Most of what i have read are rentals for double and triple rooms. Kindly recommend. Thank you.

Ubud Shopping and transportation in Ubud
Posted: Tue July 3, 2007 01:34 PM UTC
Are there any people out there who like to compare prices and shop for the best for the least? My wife and I love the sport! Are there any rip off shops to stay out of? Are there shops where you really found good buys -as compared to what other shops were offering? How about shipping the stuff home.Is it expensive? Where do you go to do it?
While looking at the city and carrying purchases, what transportation is available? I understand it is all steep hills. We are going to be staying about half way up the Monkey Road.

Thanks, Dres

Ubud Renting a Taxi to to Munduk/Danau Buyan from Ubud
Posted: Sun June 24, 2007 03:00 AM UTC
This is our second trip to Bali and we want to skip the usual tourist areas and thought we check out the Danau Buyan area for a day. Can any advise what is a reasonable price to rent a taxi for a day trip out say 8-9 hours? If I get a price from one of the many drivers around, it is likely to include the driver's lunch and tips or is it expected to tip on top of the amount?

Also, any recommendations for any other sights or walk (scenic walks!) that we can catch along the way?

Ubud Hotel Prepayment - Is This Common Practice in Bali?
Posted: Tue May 15, 2007 04:35 PM UTC
I have booked a hotel in Ubud. However, after several interchanges via E-mail, they have told me that that they will meet me at the airport upon my arrival to give me the hotel voucher & collect payment (preferably in cash), even though I will not be staying at their hotel until 4 more days after my arrival. Is this normal in Bali?

Ubud Inexpensive Losman?
Posted: Mon January 31, 2005 06:27 PM UTC
We're hoping to find a nice but inexpensive losman in Ubud or very close. Have heard the Hibiscus is nice, but can't seem to find it on the web. Any recommendations or ideas? We hope to spend less than $10 night for extended stay. Are there still places for less than $5 night?
Many thanks

Ubud Book ahead for late arrival?
Posted: Sat January 29, 2005 03:26 PM UTC
Hi, we're arriving in Denpasar around 9pm and want to head straight up to Ubud, so I have two burning questions!
1) are we likely to find a bemo at that hour (there are 5 of us, by the way) or a taxi? Any suggestions for transport and do we need to book ahead? and...
2) will it be too late to find a losman? I've heard that one is often met by losman operators or touts with photos of their places. I'm guessing it might be 10:30pm or even 11:00pm by the time we hit Ubud, do you suppose there will be a welcoming committee? Or should we book a room ahead of time?
Thanks ever so much!! This is my first time traveling!
