Sevastopol - Simferopol - Crimea Posted: Thu June 26, 2008 08:31 AM UTC
Hello,
Myself and 2 friends are planning a trip to Crimea (Sevastopol) for a few days to a week.
We are planning to leave soon and wanted to know the best options (cheapest too) for getting to Sevastopol.
We are traveling from Holland / The Netherlands and currently considering a route via Bucharest. Is there a boat from Romania to Crimea (Sevastopol)? Also, any bus or train lines?
Thanks for any information.

Accomondation in Krim Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 04:18 PM UTC
Hello,
I'm planning a trip to Crimera in August.
Now I search a (nearly) lonley (sand)beach with a (really) cheap datcha.
We just need a clean(without cockroaches or smth. else) room near the (clean)beach with a fridge and smth. to cook(no TV needed or smth else needed).
Where are this kind of small villages where you have nearly no tourists and it is cheap.
How much can I expect to pay for two persons each night?
Would be really cool if someone could help me.

East Crimea (Krym) Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 08:43 PM UTC
I'm going to travel in the east Crimea - Feodosia/Sudak cities region for a 2008 summer with my mountainbike and sleepingbag to do nothing but bike riding, trekking, swimming, fishing, sleeping and so on. I`m a student, not a profesional guide or some sort.
I know this region well (some lovely and beautifull wild and not so wild spots there, unique landscapes and beautiful sightseens) and i speak english a little, so maybe i'll be usefull for someone?
Sorry for my english

best resorts/hotels to stay for a family with 3 year old baby Posted: Tue July 17, 2007 03:31 PM UTC
Hi Experts in rest.
I need a suggestion on best place to stay for a week in Krym. I will travel with my wife and a 3 year old kid. I am looking for a quiet resort or hotel where one should not care much about meals and noise and how-to-get-to-the-beach-under-hot-sun. It should not be too expensive as well.
Thanks!

Room in Crimea Posted: Sat May 26, 2007 01:41 PM UTC
Hey,
I'd like to ask your help about the following problem.
I live in Budapest and I'd like to spend 10 days with my friend somewhere on the South of Crimea in the beginning of August. My problem is that we still have not any accomodation and we would like to find the cheapest solution. As we are uni students we can spend for one day only 50 hrivna together. What do you think is it possible to find some flat or I dont know what for this money?
And which city or town would be the cheapest?
If anyone could help us please contact me!
And if anyone need help about Hungary, just write me!
Thanks,
Laci, Hungary

Somewhere between Crimea and Kiev? Posted: Wed July 5, 2006 12:59 PM UTC
Hi everyone !
I will be in Crimea at the end of the month with a friend. after staying a few days we are planning go up to kiev. But as I can see from the map that is a long way. So it will be good to split the journey into two. Any suggestions where we can stop for a break between two locations, Harkov comes to my mind but would love to hear suggestions. And may I also learn:
- If Ukraine railways have a web site. (No problem with the language I know some russian)
- If we decide to make the journey non stop how long will that take. (lets say from Yalta to Kiev)
Thanks in advance,
Gorkem.

Getting around Crimea Posted: Thu May 18, 2006 04:23 PM UTC
I shall be visiting Crimea (staying in Simeiz) in June this year, but only for a week.
What is the best way to get around? Taxis? Buses (I imagine that they are slow, but are they reliable?)? Car hire (Avis, Hertz, etc. are expensive - any local (Yalta?) recommendations?)?
Also, recommendations as to restaurants, bars, clubs all greatfully received!
Best wishes,
Richard

Meeting new people in Simferopol Posted: Wed March 15, 2006 05:03 PM UTC
Privjet!
I am an young expat living and working in Simferopol, Crimea.
It's been only two weeks since my arrival in the Crimean capital, so I still do not know local people (or other foreigners), except my colleagues from the office.
So whoever knows somebody who might be interested in meeting me for a coffee, please answer this message.
Thanx!

Trip from Crimea to Bulgaria, Black Sea towns? Posted: Thu March 2, 2006 10:34 PM UTC
Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to get the easiest way from the Crimea to Varna, Burgas or any other Black Sea town. (Or in any other nice place in Burgaria, for that matter). I wish to go this way in June, possibly. A direct flight would be great, but what about train or ship? Any help is appreciated.
thanks

Simferopol or Kiev as a starting point. Posted: Tue February 28, 2006 05:15 PM UTC
Hi! For a brief (about a week) trip to Ukraine in May, which is better to fly into for seeing Crimea and Kiev, Simferopol airport or Kiev airport? Which would be easiest to get to the other, or which should we hit first? Can anyone possibly offer an advice on how easy the train journey is, (I'll have a four yr old with me) or direct me to a transport link that could help further? In your opinion, is a week long enough to see both these areas of the country? Thanks so much for any help!

Has anyone had any experience with the Hotel Valencia. Their web site makes it look a bit more attractive than either Hotel Moscow or Hotel Ukraine.
Any information would be appreciated.

Simferopol-Lvil air tickets Posted: Mon April 11, 2005 11:41 AM UTC
Hi,
we plan to arrive in Simferopol by train from Lviv. To save time on journey back, I wanted to take a plane.
How much does it cost? I heard 50USD?
Do I have to book in advance? I'm in Warsaw/Poland now and so far I've found no travel agent who would sell Ukrainian domestic flights.
Thanks,
Pawel

VISAs for the UKRAINE Posted: Mon August 18, 2003 04:04 PM UTC
Hi everyone, please help. I'm getting mixed signals about VISAs for the Ukraine.
I want to travel to Simferopol as a tourist for a view days, via Kiev. Some people say I can only do this with a VISA obtained here in the UK first - I'm British - others say I can get one on my arrival at SImferopol. Yet others say I will not be allowed onto my connecting flight without a VISA - so does anyone outthere know for sure.
I'll be very grateful for any and all help. Thank you.

Simferopol Airport Posted: Sun June 15, 2003 10:15 PM UTC
The last time I visited Yalta, I flew into Simferopol and took a taxi to Yalta. This was in 2000 and the cost was about 60.00 USD. Are the cost about the same today?
I am from the State of Oregon and have found Yalta to be a very fasinating place. Yes, to the person wanting to learn the language, you can get by with English, but it helps to know a little Russian. Yalta, has been occupied off an on by Russia for many years. The people are wonderful and friendly. Enjoy.

How difficult is it to visit Canada Posted: Mon March 24, 2003 04:05 AM UTC
I would like to bring my sister to visit us here in canada. Does anyone know how long it will take to get all the necessary documents? We have never met and can not prove we are family, will this make it more difficult for her to get here? I hear that lots of people get refused visa's for Canada. Does she need a letter of invitation and will this make it easier.
