Hi can anyone give me some advice please? I am visiting a friend in Bangalore around November/December-2007, I have never been to India before and am worried about the weather being to hot as I have very pale skin I burn very easy, so living in England suits me fine with all the rain lol, can u tell me if I need to have a visa even for a week or two. I am not a well travelled person and as I will be going alone am very nervous especially having to change flights and the length of time it takes to get to India, I hope I don't lose my nerve and bottle out of the trip, thanks.

Hello, I'll be in Bangalore and adjoining rural Andhra Pradesh for a couple of weeks. Could some one suggest where I can purchase an inexpensive UNLOCKED mobile phone and SIM card. How much does it cost. I need a basic compact phone to make and receive calls. Brand names and service suggestions would also be appreciated.

Do you know any web-site that gives details of BMTC routes and services within Bangalore City? Their old web-site www.bmtc.in does not work now.

I am coming for a week long stay with family. thinking a service apartment will be good option. I would like to stay in HRBR Banaswadi. Do you know of any website that gives details of BMTC bus routes and timings etc. Their site www.bmtcinfo.com obtained from Google search does not work anymore and is probably switched over to another site.

I've been assigned to work with our Outsourced IT Suppliers for 6 weeks at short notice.

What do I really need to know about cultural differences, dress codes (business/leisure), things and places that perhaps should be avoided/or not (;-)) best places to eat/drink be merry, weather at the moment, getting around etc,.

I have my summer school in whitefield bangalore and will be needing accommodation for two months starting at about 22 or 23 may for about 2 to 4 people. Need to know about the rates of rent/pg/other and which area to look for if you need a cheap place.
And are place near whitefield too expensive for accomodation? What would be the best place which is as near to whitefield as possible with decent rate (considering a max of Rs 8000/- per month budget)?

As I am relatively free for upto 1st week of May, I shall love to be able to assist, guide, take around the city, meet and perhaps take on a weekend long trip around Bangalore, to any one from across the World. I just love meeting people with different backgrounds (cultural, social, profession etc. etc.) and also love travelling!

I have a day, probably two in Bangalore in Jan. What are the main things to see? I read some sites and guidebooks and all seemed to point the reader outside the city, to Mysore. Is there really nothing to see in the city?

How convenient is it to get to Mysore? Is a day trip enough or should I stay the night there?
