Do you know if there's any place that serve jap food in Hyderabad? Simply cannot find one that served... Any other restuarants to introduce? So far, We've been to Taj Krishna, Sheraton, Oris House (Far East and Seranjati), Paradise, Fusion 9....

Please introduce shopping places too besides hyderbad central and lifestyle.

Just recently moved to an apartment/guest house in Banjara Hills (road no 10). The thing is that in Hyderabad AFAIK there's no something like a hypermarket yet, so it's a bit difficult to find some things easily without own transportation.

Do you know where are:

- Nearby computer accessories stores (network hub/cables or wireless access point)
- Nearby home equipments stores (stand for drying cloth, crockery, cuttlery, etc)
- English movies cinemas (other than Prasad's)
- Souvenirs shops (unique t-shirts, collectibles, etc)
- Nearby shopping complex and malls (other than Hyderabad Central)

I want to know the details of the event managers in hyderabad. I need to celebrate birthday party of my kid.

In couple of days I'd be off to Hyderabad for an IT project until mid of next year with some trips every 1-2 months back home (Dubai).

Would like to know what to do and where to go (in and around Hyderabad) during night times and weekend. During spare time, I like traveling, photography, go to malls/restaurants/bookstores, probably some cinemas/clubs/cafes/live music, etc. Will I get bored?

As I'll be leaving my family here (Dubai), so communication (mobile & internet) is a must. Any choice and how much for obtaining mobile prepaid card (with IDD)? Is there any VoIP/cheap phone card?

Any of fellow Hyd VT'ers know of any event management company or any company which can handle light/sound/stage for an event at a 5 star hotel, pls suggest or pass around to friends who might know of people.

I am in Hyd nov 10 to 12, would like to meet anyone whose interested in this business area.

Evenings of nov 10 & 11 I am relatively free, so if we can have a meet of VT'ers Hyd or anyone wants to meet up, we can do that as well. I am likely staying at the Taj Banjara, if rooms are available or somewhere around there.

I am planning a music concert with one of India's music icon's at hyderabad in december, so making a recee trip between nov 10 to 12 to hyderabad to check out the following :

- venue
- hoardings
- technical requirements : stage + sound + light among others

If any of you could suggest any agency for the hoardings & technical requirements will be of help to me.

Also suggest some place for me to stay around banjara hills, around Rs 3,000/ per night.

How far is Secunderabad from Hyderabad? I will be going for a couple of days in September and have never been to this area. Regarding bargaining: aside from the exchange rate there is a cost of living component that is confusing so I usually overpay I'm sure. What seems like vary little in dollars turns out to be significant in rupees. Also, can you recommend decent accomodations that are less than the Taj Krishna?

I'm new in Hyderabad and am having serious troubles finding a flat (1 or 2 bed in Banjara or Jubilee Hills). I've looked in papers and on the web but not getting anywhere. Anyone know of other (reliable-ish) sources?? (Trustworthy agents perhaps.. although the ones I've encountered so far have been dubious..)

Will be moving to Hyderbad in September...any recommendations on areas to live in? I will be coming with my husband, we are a young couple and like to be near the action but have a decent night's sleep, clean place, etc. I will be working in Secunderabad but heard that it would be more exciting to live in Hyderabad. However, I'm still worried about the commute to work? Any advice would be truly appreciated, and yes, we are on a budget.

I am Indonesian who is currently living in Mumbai for the last 6 months.
Soon, i will relocate to Hyderabad since my husband gets a job there.

I always cook Indonesian and Chinese food at home since i am very sensitive in taking spicy indian food.

So, my queries may be so spesific coz i will go to Hyderabad for settling and not for travelling.

Can anyone tell me where to get imported products such as :
-Instant noodle imported from Indonesia & Singapore (Indomie & Koka)
-Rice vermicelli imported from Thailand
-Coconut milk powder imported from Maggi Srilanka
-Cooking sauce such as Dark sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce
-Vegetables like chinese cabbage, pokcoy, sprout and also product of soybean such as tofu

Those product i can easily find in some different stores for each item, for example i can find Indomie, coconut milk powder, those typical chinese vegetables in Hypercity, but Rice vermicelli and cooking sauce in TruMart.

Will i have difficulties to find those products in Hyderabad?

Also i heard about Begumpet, is it a good area to live in? Nearby to shops, supermarkets, shopping malls to get daily needs?
Any other options?

Is there any cold storages so that we dont have to buy fresh fish, fresh chicken, etc from open market?

How does life in Hyderabad compare to life in USA?

May have to relocate for 3 years, mainly concerned about everyday chores, dishwashers? washers? dryers? are houses well air conditioned? is it too difficult to cope with the heat? is it humid? Is western clothing ok or women need to cover heir face? How difficult is to grocery shop?

The last time I was there, there were A/C Volvo buses run by APSRTC from HYD to Vijayawada. Does anybody know if they still do? and what is the first one to start in the morning from Hyd bus station?

I will be posted in Hyderabad for 4 months later this year. Can anyone advise me where the expatriate neighbourhoods of the city are and if there are any western style supermarkets in these areas or in the city centre? Also, what is the best shopping mall for getting western style goods and clothes? Any help or hints on this would be really appreciated and i'll buy you a beer when i'm over there.

I just want to know where at the airport I can get a taxi to my hotel. My hotel is located in the Secretariat area. Anyone knows approx how much it would cost?. I read the comments about how to take a taxi in Delhi and I got it all clear I have to go to ""the stand which is next to the police."". Anything special about getting a taxi from Hyderabad Airport?

Is there any shortcut route (4-5 kms)from Barabanda to the Hitech city? If there is, then can I drive my 4-wheeler there?

Anyone know of this hotel? Is the food good there? How about the pool? If I'm there Aug 15 through Sep 30, will I be using the pool much? What is there to do that is fun on my time off (I'll be there on a business trip - right now the only thing I have planned is a possible weekend trip to Taj Mahal).
