Going on 11 July for 2 nights 3 days. need good hotel info. Posted: Mon July 6, 2009 07:29 AM UTC
Hi,
I am going to Kodaikanal this weekend from Bangalore by Train to Kodai Road.
Would be greatful if someone can help me with the following.
1. where should i get down (Kodai Road or DINDIGUL JN)to catch Bus/Taxi to Kodaikanal town. I can go for Taxi if its below 1000 Rs If really Bus servcie is not good.
2. Which hotel is better to stay for good view. I heard the "Villa retreat" is nice with some good valley view but can get the availabilty :(. Carlton is bit on some higher side. Any views for Valley View Inn/Sterling resort/Kodai Resort or any other good hotel/resort within 3000 Rs range (per night).
Please suggest since i have very less time.
3. Is it good enough 2 night 3 days stay in Kodai. Also would like to know places to visit there.
Thanks in Advance,
Ravindra

Kodaikanal trip in March - Is this a good time? Posted: Tue February 5, 2008 06:59 AM UTC
Hi,
I am planning to go for a vaccation with my family in first week of March.
I read somewhere that travelling in March to Kodaikanal should be avoided as this is a very wet and cold season.
Can you guys please comment on this? Has anyone been to Kodai in this part of year?
Also can you please provide inputs on which is the best hotel to stay in?

Morning bus from Kodaikanal to Bangalore? Posted: Mon January 14, 2008 07:14 AM UTC
Hello all,
I wanted to know if there's any morning bus from Kodaikanal to Bangalore. Our check-out from hotel is at 10 am and the whole day we have to wait for the evening bus or look for other options. I'm not sure what a hired car will cost.We are two adults and an infant(which is why we would find it very inconvenient to wait after check-out). We are planning to leave Kodai on Feb 26th 2008.
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Kodai from Cochin Posted: Tue July 10, 2007 08:11 PM UTC
I am planning to travel to kodai from cochin in the last week of july2007 .The current arrangement I have made is to travel by Train (guruvayyaur -chennai express) upto madurai junction and thereafter travel by car to kodai.
I have opted for this mode of travel because it seems to be comfortable (AC 2 Tier).
Are there any luxury bus services from cochin to kodai and if so how long does the travel take?
Regards

Kodaikanal vs Kovalam Posted: Thu May 10, 2007 07:57 PM UTC
Hello,
Am new to this Forum but scanning through a few posts seems to be a pretty handy and helpful place for practical information.
This is my first visit to Kerala! I am going through Munar and Kumarakom.
I need some suggestions regarding the 3rd place.
The analysis I have done so far suggests me 2 places Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu) and Kovalam. I will be going out with family in and around 14th to 24th of June.
I understand the fact that my question is comparing 2 contrasting places but I would really appreciate any personal opinions.
Also one thing is that whether munar and kodaikanal being two hill stations afterall be similar in certain respects. In that case would going to Kovalam being a beech be a better choice?
I would be enlightened with any suggestions/guidance I receive on my entire tour.
Thanks...
