Manali Camping Gas in Manali or Shimla
Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 12:23 AM UTC
Does anyone know if camping gas cartridges (threaded type/ lightweight)are available in either Manali or Shimla?
I'm about to embark on a cycling trip and would prefer to take gas stove rather than kerosene. I understand from a friend just returned from there that gas is available in several places in Leh up in Ladakh, but thats at the far end of my proposed trip.
Any help appreciated.

Manali Planning a Road Trip Delhi - Manali - Leh (Motorcycles)
Posted: Wed May 21, 2008 07:06 PM UTC
Hi,

I along with a friend are planning a Road trip in Mid Aug 08. we'll start from Delhi - Manali - Leh and then back.

Looking for some partners, as a bigger group is always better for such rides.

We will be passing from the world's highest pass,in other words its not a easy ride. We would need to make a lot of preparations.

Please respond, so that we can plan out accordingly.

Regards,

Manali Warm clothes in Manali
Posted: Thu January 3, 2008 11:06 AM UTC
We are going to Manali in a few weeks. We have some warm clothing with us, we will need to buy some more when we get there. I am a UK size 16-18. Can anyone recommend anywhere that will be open? and what prices can we expect to pay for long sleeve tops, trousers etc? Thanks

We are in Goa at the moment and have been looking in the Tibetan and Nepali shops (prices are a little high).

Hi,

We are planning to visit Manali in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend any hotels that are open with heating this time of year? Our budget is 850 Rupees We were looking to stay in Old Manali originally but understand it will be closed. We know that it will be very cold (we have just spent a year in Asia). Thanks

Manali From Delhi to Manali
Posted: Sun August 5, 2007 03:14 PM UTC
I plan to visit manali in early november. I will be accompanied by 2 senior citizens. I want your opinion about following:

1. Is it ok to fly from delhi to kullu by deccan? I have read adverse comments about flying to kullu.

2. How far is manali from chandigarh? How long it will take?

3. Is it better totravel by road or fly with 2 senior citizens?

4. How cold will be manali? Also do one feel altitude problem there?

Thanks I await your replies.
