We are a group of 8 members travelling from Bangalore to Pondicherry(17th dec 2011 in Car) for the first time. We are planning to leave by sat morning and reach bangalore by Mon Morning. As I am pretty new can anyone please draft a plan for the places to visit(within our time span), place to stay(hotel or I have heard of Ashram)?? and can we have a campfire near beaches?? Please reply at the earliest as I have only a week!!

I will be staying in Pondicherry for 4 months (august 2011 to november 2011) and I am looking for a small, non-expensive, furnished apartment for 1 person near Kuruchikuppam... hopefully with A/C..
Can somebody give me a hand?

Hi,I am visiting pondicherry.
I need to live in a apartment with my wife and kid for 1 month.
Similar to a serviced apartment. beds and kitchen equipments is enough.Air conditioning for bedroom is jus sufficient.
Donot prefer to stay in hotels with people around.Need to be at home away from home and enjoy ondicherry as a normal pondy citizen.
What would be the cost of stay per month.

Hi, is Chennai the nearest international airport to Pondicherry ?
If so, how to get from there to Pondicherry ? To drive from there to Pondicherry takes how long ?
Also, what's a good boutique hotel in the French Quarter ?
Would also appreciate any useful information on good Franco-Indian fusion restaurants.

We are a group of 15 people from Bangalore wanting to spend a weekend in Pondicherry. Its our first visit and we are looking for a hotel/resort ranging between 1000 - 1200 per night, per room (double).

We had been hoping to visit Pondicherry in October 2010, flying in rather than taking the bus. We now discover that the airport is closed to everything but the local flying school. Does anybody have any information as to when it might be reopening?
If it is due to reopen in time for us to get to Pondicherry, can anybody let me know which airlines might be flying to it and from where?

Hi my wife n self are travelling to Our Lady of Vellankani's Church next month. We would like to know the appropriate (Shortest, safest n cheapest) mode of travelling and the reasonable hotel to stay in for the weekend.
The last time we went was through Paulo Travels by road (Goa-Bangalore-Chennai-vellankani) and we stayed at Seagate Hotel since it was round the bend to the church.
Please advice the journey route too i.e. Goa-Bangalore-Chennai-??

I may take a group of about 10 people to Pondicherry in late July and early August, 2007 for about two weeks. I need help with the following:
-Inexpensive place to stay;
-Good but inexpensive restaurants;
-Day trips we can take to other places to see things like temples, ruins, or other interesting cultural or natural sites;
-Are there any good beaches nearby? If so, where?
-Any other good advice you can think of.

I am planning a trip to Pondicherry from Bangalore this weekend. Is it wise to go there right now ? Would it be too hot / too rainy at this time ?
Would also appreciate any advice about things to do / places to see over a 3-day weekend in Pondicherry.
