Rishikesh Travel Forum

Hi there

I'm travelling to India in December and we want to get from Rishikesh to Varanasie, does anyone know if there is a day or overnight train we can get or a bus and not have to return to Delhi first to get to Varanasie? I know the main transport link for Rishikesh is Haridware. The agent i'm using has said there are not trains from Haridware to Varanasie.

Hi there...

My question is regarding studying yoga in rishikesh or somewhere else in north india that you might recommend.
I'm arriving in new delhi around the 22nd of september with my husband and we're planning on spending a couple of months traveling in the north. I would like to spend about 4 weeks doing a teacher training course in an ashram...have noticed that there are many so can anyone recommend one from their experience?
Also what sort of money am i looking at spending? I have heard that most include accomodation, food, and sometimes they have cooking classes...

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.

so we've planned a trip during the second week of june. Let me tell about my plan. I'll be leaving on a friday from Pune (which is where I live) and come to delhi. The problem is that ill be reachin Delhi in the evening and from there we'll be catching a bus to hrishikesh if avaiable (suggesstion required). We'll be reachin hrishikesh most probably late in the night, may be after 1 or 2am...can i get accomodation at that time and if yes, please tell me about the charges and what els i need to sure of as it is our first time to the north

Where in Delhi will you get a bus to Rishikesh, time it takes?.And could you get transport Bus/Taxi to Chandigarh from Rishikesh?
