Taipei Taipei-jiufen etc
Posted: Sun May 4, 2008 12:12 AM UTC
Hi

Did you all heard about cabbie meeky yang, fee for a day around 10hr for NT3000. Exluding the admission ticket. He will come to the hotel and fetch us and send us back to hotel or any night market that we want to go. There will be 3 people includes me.

With a youth pass. Do you think it is still worth of booking a cabbie go all these place Yehliu -> Shifen -> Jiufen Old Street -> Jingguashih -> 南雅 -> 鼻頭 -> Yinyanghai -> keelung tong seng park -> MiaoKow Food Street. Maybe more as depends on the road route.

Or you guys have better suggestion. Pls advise me. Thanks

Taipei in transit thru taipei, HELP!
Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 04:16 AM UTC
Help please!

I have invited my wife's sister and mother to visit us in Canada. I have sent all the necessary documents required by the Philippine and Canadian immigration including airline tickets. They are stopping over for a few hours in Taipei and then on to Canada.
I heard tonight that the Taipei immigration is wanting a "PECO STAMP" I have no idea what this is or where I can obtain one for our travellers.

Can you HELP me?

Thanks,

Joe

Taipei Public Libraries in Taipei
Posted: Sat March 22, 2008 03:01 PM UTC
Hi

Are there any public libraries in Taipei that have good selection of English novels? I know Page One at 101 is a good English bookstore, it would be nice to borrow books instead of buying all the time.

Thanks

Taipei Yang Ming Shan flowers and accomodation suggestions
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 10:47 AM UTC
My parents were thinking of going to Yang Ming Shan to see the flowers.
Would there still be flowers in April, which is when they were thinking of going?
How does one get from the airport to Yang Ming Shan?
Is there any accomodation around in the area that is clean and affordable?
Is there anything else they should see around the same vicinity as I understand that Yang Ming Shan is not exactly in the city?

hi all!

my flight from osaka arrives in taipei at around 2pm, and i travel onward to manila the following day at 1pm. for sure, i want to check out the city during my limited time in taiwan. my questions:

-they have lockers/left luggage services at the airport, right? shouldn't be a prob if i leave my luggage overnight, right?
-how much time should i allot to travel from the city to the airport?
-must-sees and not to be missed in these few hours..
-where can i go in the morning?
-suggestions on souvenirs that are not found anywhere else ;)

thanks so much!

Taipei Buying a computer in Taipei?
Posted: Thu January 3, 2008 02:05 AM UTC
I plan on purchasing a computer in the very near future, and it just so happens I'll also be in Taiwan in the very near future. I kind of have my heart set on a macbook. I was just wondering if these are sold at all in Taiwan and if they were the same price or cheaper.

Another question. If I were not set on a Mac book, does Taiwan offer any reliable, competitive, and cheaper (than the States) alternatives? Could I purchase a reliable computer in Taiwan for cheaper than I could back in the States?
Thanks

Taipei East Dragon Hotel
Posted: Wed January 2, 2008 03:02 PM UTC
Hi,

I have not really seen many reviews on East Dragon Hotel even though it is located at a very convenient place too in XMT.

I have reserved a triple room in this hotel (Did some research and it seems that this is the only hotel in XMT that provides triple room at a reasonable rate and the additional bed is not the foldable type).

Can someone who has stayed in this hotel provides some reviews on it, i.e. is the hotel clean, are the rooms big, etc? And does the Freego bus stops in front of this Hotel from CKS Airport? How do I take the Freego bus from CKS Airport to this hotel?
