Seoul DMZ - train station in tour?
Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 11:33 AM UTC
I've been told by a questionable source that one of the tours of the DMZ, has a stop at a train station in/near Panmunjom that among other things offers a tourist passport stamp representing DPRK with the dove of peace.

I've toured the DMZ and JSA during my tour of North Korea, and done the USO tour... So one of my friends and I were looking for something else. Any insight on which other tours offer this station? No other posts or tips give any definitive information. is it Dorasan Railway Station?

Seoul ICN Airport to Camp Kim
Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 03:13 AM UTC
Can anyone advise me on the best way to get from Incheon Airport (ICN) to Camp Kim? How long does it take to travel between the two? If a taxi is the best way, what would the taxi fare be?

Thanks!

Seoul bringing bread out of Korea...
Posted: Sun April 6, 2008 01:55 PM UTC
Sorry for the weird question...

I plan to buy bread from Tous Les Jour ('cuz I really love them, and our country doesn't have any Tous Les Jour or anything close to it) and bring it back to my country. Am I allowed to have the bread check-in with me at the airport? I'll just put it on my carry-on backpack

Seoul Soccer Uniforms for kids
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 12:03 AM UTC
I was supposed to travel via Bangkok but was rerouted through Seoul. I had my heart set on buying a bunch of soccer uniforms (national team and club team imitations for kids) and know where to get them cheap in Bangkok as they produce them there. They are about $6-$10 dollars there and $50 or more in the US. Do they sell such things in Seoul? My kids are due for a size up...

Thanks!

Seoul 3-Day tours in Seoul
Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 11:34 AM UTC
Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum. I've tried to search for an answer to my question, but without luck. I want to stop over in Seoul for 3-4 days on my way back from Singapore. Just wondering if there are any reputable tours that do 3-days of guided sight-seeing around Seoul including hotel and airport pickup/dropoff. I don't speak of a word of Korean and just want something "effortless" to participate in since I'll be alone for this leg of my trip. I really appreciate any feedback you might have.

Seoul Black cat restaurant bar
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 07:21 PM UTC
I am trying to find out about the Black Cat restuarant in Seoul. I know is near Lotte world...but can't find it on the internet.

Anyone living in the area or visiting having info on it would be great.

I am assuming my spelling is correct...maybe it could be Black Kat or something sounding similar.

thank you

Posted: Mon February 25, 2008 03:44 AM UTC
Hi. I'll be in Seoul for about a week next month. My hubby will be attending a conference in Coex for the last 3 days. Can anyone please recommend what to do for that 3 days? Where can I explore?

Also, what about the first 3 days when we are free? Should we stay in Seoul and explore the place? Is there anywhere we can do a day tripper from Seoul? Thanks a lot!! :)

Seoul accomodation from US $40-US$70
Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 01:20 AM UTC
I'm planning to stay in MyeongDong area, as recommended by other GTs. My original plan is to stay at Seoul's Backpackers, but my mom wants to come with me, and I think staying in a backpacker's place is not her idea of fun. My questions:
1)I heard the best place to stay is at a love hotel/motel. how do I know if
it's a love motel? I can't search any of them in the internet. Do they
accept reservations through the internet?

2)If we're going to stay at an actual hotel, can I find one with the price range of US $40- US $70?

Seoul can anyone do me a favor? please...
Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 12:40 AM UTC
I'm staying at Seoul's Backpackers, and I'm wrote them an email of my questions, but I still got no reply for almost a month. I was wondering if anyone is in Soeul right now and would do me a favor of calling them and asking them these questions:

1)Does the double room have their own bathroom?
2) For the double room, is the bed one big bed for 2 people to share or do they have 2 single bed?

That's all. I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Seoul Which transport ticket should we buy?
Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 07:59 PM UTC
Hi,
We will be in Seoul for 2 weeks in July, the place we are staying is not very central so we will have to rely on the subway a lot to get around.
My question is, which is the best ticket to buy? I have been on the Seoul subway site and it has a few different kinds of pre-pay tickets, T card, Metro Pass and Transit Cards, we want to be able to be flexible as to where we go and not have to worry about having to keep topping up a card. Also do they include bus travel?

Seoul Korean Entertainment
Posted: Sat February 9, 2008 04:02 PM UTC
I was having second thoughts about this question, but i will ask it anyway.

I am not Korean but I have been hooked on the Korean drama and music scene. I was wondering where I can get some information on concerts, live show or celebrity meet & greet event schedules in March. Or how to be in the studio audience for a music variety show, perhaps?

If anyone could point me to the right direction so I could include something like this in my itinerary would be great :)

Seoul Accommodation IN Dongdaemun or Myeongdong.
Posted: Fri February 8, 2008 02:23 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am planning a trip to Seoul and would like to get some opinions on where I should book accommodation. I would like to stay in the heart of the shopping/entertainment area and next to a train station.

I was looking to stay in Dongdaemun but the only place i could find is Best Western. Can you suggest other accommodation places in Dongdaemun?

If not in Dongdaemun, I would like to stay in Myeongdong, can you please suggest accomodation in Myeongdong that is also next to a train station?

Thank you. I am really looking forward to my trip to Seoul!

I am going to Mongolia and Seuol is on the way. I have never been to Korea, and plan to go there to visit one day. I hear July has monsoons and maybe typhoons - how bad do they get? Is it best to stay only say 2 days, and come back another time to see it properly>

Seoul Hi-Seoul Festival 2008
Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 09:05 PM UTC
Annyong haseyo!

I'm visiting Korea again soon! Yay! I will be there during the week of the Hi-Seoul Festival (26 April - 5 May). However I won't be spending the whole period in Seoul but I will be traveling to other parts of the country for about 4-5 days. My question is, when are the not-to-be-missed days during the festival? The opening and closing perhaps??

Oh yes, I am a hallyu fan, by the way!

The tour person arranging our accomodation n out of seoul trips has listed Rainbow hotel at seoul station as an option. Has anyone been there before? Is it an acceptable hotel? meaning clean n safe? Since she says its at seoul station i'm assuming that is should be close to the subway station. Correct?
