Nice Driving to St Tropez
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 03:47 AM UTC
Since it is off season, is it easiest to rent a car in Nice and drive to St Tropez, as opposed to taking the boat and a bus or train?

Nice Daytrips by Bus and Train, From Nice
Posted: Sun October 11, 2009 08:04 PM UTC
Hi there,

I will be staying in Nice and will have 12 full days to explore and enjoy the city and the surrounding area. If my itinerary of towns to visit seems a bit ambitious, keep in mind that I am a professional photographer (with a focus on travel images) and am there as much to work as to play.

My question to you all is this: Can each of the following towns be reached by bus or train (from Nice)? I will not be renting a car.

I have consulted the Ligne d'Azur PDF of bus routes, but found it difficult to navigate and couldn't quite figure out if certain buses stopped at some of my towns of interest along the route to their final destination. If I could see more than one town in the same day, that would be good to know (and likely to do).

Nice Nice to Rapallo
Posted: Mon August 31, 2009 04:28 PM UTC
If I take a train from Nice to rapallo, there is no direct train and I must go to Vingtimille and then Genoa....On raileurope site it showed NA, which means not available and I do not understand.

Any possibility to go by bus from Nice to Genoa, how many buses a day from la gare routiere ? After Genoa, I may take a train or bus to Rapallo.

Thanks for any reply. I am leaving this Friday.

Nice Early morning buses from Gare Routiere to Nice Airport?
Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 06:12 PM UTC
Does anyone know whether there is an early morning bus starting at 6.30am or will we need to get a taxi? If it's the taxi can you recommend a reasonably priced one (if there is such a thing?)

Nice breakfast in nice
Posted: Sun August 9, 2009 04:06 PM UTC
I love this forum, so useful.

I have been quoted a price of £10 per person for breakfast at the hotel I'm staying at.

I wanted to know the average price for breakfast in cafe's in Nice. I imagine it varies greatly but for cafes in the areas of Rue Marechal Joffre I wondered if there were any budget traveller priced cafes to eat breakfast.

Thanks.

Nice Caravan
Posted: Thu August 6, 2009 12:34 PM UTC
We are travelling through France in August, by caravan. I heard that there are few camp sites and parking possibilities for camp mobiles along the côte d'azur. We do not have any reservations made and we are only travelling through (stays in monaco, nice and cannes for one night each). Does anyone have a good suggestion where we can spend our nights? Thanks in advance for any hints!

Nice Ivan Bunin’s villas in Grasse
Posted: Tue August 4, 2009 04:21 PM UTC
Hi,

Does anyone by any chance know anything new about Ivan Bunin’s villas in Grasse?

P.S.
Yes, I know this is Nice forum, not Grasse forum.
I already tried Grasse tourist office, luckily the helpful lady there wrote a paper on Bunin, which means she knew who he was, good by local standards. With a page of directions and a somewhat approximate map I found Belvedere which was in private ownership in 2006. I am now heading to Janette.

Nice Santa Azur Bus to Isola 2000
Posted: Sat August 1, 2009 09:05 PM UTC
Hi

We are regular travellers to Nice. For a change next year we are hoping to fly to Nice and ski in Isola 2000. I see that the Santa Azur Bus goes daily, leaving from Gare Routiere and then to the airport. As we are depending on this bus for transport my question is this..... what happens if the bus is full? Do the bus company provide a second bus or is it just tough and they leave you standing there for the next bus the next morning? Any help from people who have used the bus would be useful.

Hello,
My husband walks with two big metal canes due to an accident. It is difficult for him to move around in crowds. Are there any hotels with rooms that have a good view of the parades? Thanks for your input.

Hi,

What is the best ticket to get if I want to go to multiple destinations? Do they have one day train cards or would I have to get singles?

Also, how far is Eze village from the train station?

Nice Supermarkets
Posted: Mon July 6, 2009 07:53 PM UTC
Hello everyone!

My mother and I are planning a week-long trip to several Italian cities and after that another week in Nice, France (with trips to Monaco and Cannes).

I have two questions regarding our stay in Nice and would greatly appreciate the help of fellow travellers:

1) Any supermarkets you can recommend? We plan to make this trip as budget as possible when it comes to food, so except for one or two trips to the restaurant, we'd like to spend as little money on food as possible.

2) Where does one hop on a bus to Cannes or Monaco? Do you pay once inside or should you buy a ticket in advance?

Thank you.

Having visisted Nice before and seen the Cannes, Monaco sights, etc, we fancy flying to Nice then travelling to a small picturesque village that is accessible by local transport. I have stayed in Haut de Cagnes which was beautiful so any other ideas? We are an active middle aged couple who enjoy walking etc coupled with Nice relaxing restaurants

It's my friends hen do and we're heading for what we hope will be a "classy and mature" weekend in Nice. I'm currently trawling through the Nice pages on VT to try to find recommendations for hotels which are in the average price bracket, but a little bit special. No luck yet. If anyone has any suggestions they would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks, Jules

Nice spending the night at the airport
Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 05:14 PM UTC
Hey!
I have a flight leaving from the nice airport on thursday at 10am. I am now in montpellier, I haved tried to look for a train that leaves to nice in the morning but there isnt any.
And I thought about either go during the day on wednsday and spend the night in a hostel, or take the last train that arrives in nice 11.30pm on wednsday and either spend the night on the trainstation or airport.
Is that a bad choise? since Im an alone 20year old girl? Is there anything to do at the airport or trainstation? like do they have computers or cafes? whatever.

Any respond would mean alot!
Thanks!
