Nice From Nice to Marseille in 1 week
Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 09:30 PM UTC
Hi guys.

I am planning a trip to fly into Nice and out from Marseille in 1 week.

I have a few ideas of what to do. Nice/ Monaco/Cannes, go to the top of Eze (if that is easily reachable?) and if I do fancy it, catch a ferry to Corsica stay there the night and go back to the mainland.

I am planning to fly out of marseille and I have heard the train ride along the coast is fantastic! So I have a few questions:

1) I have heard must do train rides along the coast in this region, any suggestions which part is a must??? From Cannes/Nice to Marseille lets say?

2) Is Corsica really worth the trip? i.e beaches, ...well, its an island.

3) If do choose to skip Corsica, I might have 2 or so days spare. Any places highly recommended in between Cannes and Marseille that I shoudl stop by and see? ( I am going into Nice and planning to slowly make my way towards marseille)

Many thakns for you help.

Nice Best Way to Travel from Nice to Cinque Terre, Italy
Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 12:59 AM UTC
We are leaving our rental car behind in Nice, and traveling to Cinque Terre, Italy at the end of June.

Should we go ahead and buy a train ticket now, or wait until we are in France? We will be in Nice a week before our travel date and could buy them at that time.

I'm wondering which train to Cinque Terre is the best, and what the intinerary would be? I'm guessing we'd go from Nice to either Levanto or Genoa and then a local train to Riomaggiore.

Can you advise me which way would be the best and if I should buy ahead? Also, do you know where I can purchase tickets now if that's better, and approximately how much they would cost.

We are a family of four trying to stay on a tight budget. :)
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks so much for any advice!

THANK YOU

Nice Nice airport to Juan-les-pins transportation
Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 01:06 AM UTC
Hello all!
I am planning a trip to Nice in the next few weeks and wanted to find out what options there are in terms of transportation to my hotel in juan-les-pins. If someone could tell me what transportation is available and how much it costs/ how long it takes from the airport, that would be really great!

Thanks!

Nice Eze, Nice, and St Paul de Vence
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 02:33 AM UTC
Our cruise ship docks in Villefranche on May 27th. We would like to visit Nice, Eze, and St. Paul de Vence. What is thr best method for this? It appears that Nice is close to Villefranche, and Eze is 8kmk from Nice. Is this correct? Should we take the train to St. Paul de Vence, then return to Nice and have a taxi take us to Eze? Or hire a driver?

Nice Nice August travel
Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 08:58 AM UTC
Hi all. Me and my friends are going to visit Nice from August 2 up to August 9 2008. What are the weather conditions that time? Is there anything particular we should notice?
Also i have been checking some low budget hotels like Trocadero or Kyriad.
Does anyone have any recommendations to make? We will hire car, so distance from center is not a matter.

Thanks in advance

Nice 3 days on a budget in&around Nice - prices
Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 03:05 PM UTC
Hi!

I'm thinking of going in July(21-24)on a Northern Italy-French Riviera circuit which among others, includes 4 nights in Nice(1 day trip to Monaco, 1 day trip to Cannes, St Tropez and Grasse, 1 free day in Nice). Accommodation and breakfast are included, so I was wondering maybe someone could tell me where to eat on a budget, or to buy food...Are fruits cheaper at the market than in the supermarket? How much would a kilo of bananas or oranges be? or a bottle of water? anything that you think should know would be greatly appreciated.

I read about nice haircuts being done at Salon Identity, does anyone know how much is a haircut?

How much can fees at entrances to museums or other attractions range from?

I'm trying to figure out how much money would be ok for a 3 days-4 nights.

Thank you very much in advance.:-)

Nice My last question! TAXI's expensive?
Posted: Sat April 12, 2008 10:25 AM UTC
What would the price (approx) be for a taxi from train station to Avenue Gravier (this is 5Km away). How do you book a taxi in Nice, are they outside of the station, I don't want to walk late at night (about 10-11PM)!

Many Thanks

Nice Yet another question - cycles at Nice Airport
Posted: Sat April 5, 2008 04:55 AM UTC
Bonjour

Pardon. Je ne parle pas francais tres bien.

Long haul from New Zealand, complete with cycles. My wife and I are arriving Cote d'Azur Airport at Friday 25 April at 13:50.

We're trying to decide whether to get a taxi to our hotel (Stars Antibes, 905 Chemin du Valbosquet, Antibes 06600) or assemble our bikes at the Airport and ride there.

We'd prefer to ride I think. Can you forsee any problems:

1) finding somewhere to assemble at airport?
2) cycling approx 10 km along Blvd de la Plage (is there a cycleway nearby?) towards Antibes then 3 km inland to hotel?

Thanks for any suggestions. Merci.

Nice Airport bus safety
Posted: Tue April 1, 2008 01:11 PM UTC
Hello,

I have finally got sick of taxi service and would try the bus.

Is it safe to ride airport bus at about 10 – 11 p.m.?
And 5 – 6 a.m.? Can they suddenly cancel a bus early in the morning?
What about the luggage – it isn’t supervised, is it? Does it often disappear?

Thanks!

Nice To visit Nice, Cannes and Monaco in 3 days -- possible?

Hi all!

I will be going to Nice on the 22nd of April, and staying for 3 days. For that short time, will it be possible to visit Cannes and Monaco too? What places should I not miss while there? I have heard that the South of France is extra gorgeous during April.

Also, do you have suggestions as to where to stay in Nice?

Thank you in advance!

Nice Bus from Nice to Aix on 1 May holiday
Posted: Thu March 27, 2008 06:07 AM UTC
We have an early morning flight into Nice on 1 May and will travel on to Aix-en-Provence same day. Since this is Labor Day/Ascension Day, we're concerned about holiday crowds. Would appreciate any help/advice re:
1. Can we reserve tickets for the bus to Aix?
2. Train vs. bus??
3. Since more direct bus doesn't run on holiday, any opinions on taking the longer bus route? Does it make lots of stops? -----Thanks!!

Nice Nice to Avignon
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 05:20 AM UTC
Hello,

I'll be arriving Nice by air and would like to go to Avignon. Is there a bus or train from the airport that goes straight to Avignon? I don't want to stay in Nice as I have been there before. I would like to visit Arles and surrounding cities from Avignon before heading up to Paris.

Any suggestions or help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
