Has anyone stayed at the \Hotel De Provence in Nimes and is it ok or can anyone suggest a nice low budget hotel that has twin rooms as I am travelling with my 14 year old son in two weeks. Also any recommendations of wher eto eat and what to see would be appreciated Thanks guys

We will be traveling from Avignon to Nimes, is it possible to see the Pont du gard from the train? Does it make a difference if it is a TGV train or the regional? Thank you for any information.

I am really hoping someone out there can help me. I am arriving in Nimes on the 6th December to see my brother who lives near Montelimar. Can you tell me how often the shuttle bus runs from Nimes Airport to the Train Station and how much it costs? Would it be better to get a taxi? Although I am on a budget.

Myself and 6 friends will be travelling to Nimes in October for a weekend break. We will be flying in via Ryan Air and staying in the centre of Nimes. We plan to go out in Nimes on the friday night and want to sample some good local bars and Tapas, can you recomend any please - also bars that stay open late would be good. We also plan to go to Avignon (by train) on the saturday hopefully to a Vin Yard - again any recomendations would be really helpfull. Many thanks, Chipper.

I am travelling to Nimes but arriving at Montpellier airport. Can anyone tell me how to get from Montpellier Airport to the Centre of Nimes? Is there a direct bus, or must I take the Montpellier Airport bus to Montpellier centre and then the train to Nimes

How much would a taxi cost direct from Montpellier airport to Nimes Centre?

We will be arriving in Marseille on 28 Sept and staying in the Aix-en-provence area for a few days. We will rent a car in Aix during that time in order to drive around to villages and countryside, and then deposit the car in Avignon and then take the bus to Uzes where will will attend a week-long meeting (it seems impossible to turn in the car in Uzes). Is anyone familiar with this bus - where to catch it, the timetable, the cost, etc? Will we see things along the way? The meeting we'll be attending is actually at the Pont du Gard, so we'll be able to see that for sure.

Also, anyone's favorite villages between Aix & Avignon would be interesting to hear about.

My friend and I are thinking of flying nimes at the end of May and we were going to travel onto marseille, but is there enough happening in Nīmes for younger people? We two female friends wanting a long weeknd away with something to see and do, but a bit of nightlife too.

I am taking 6 11-year-olds to Nimes at the end of March. Any suggestions for good places for a group this size (9 people altogether) to have breakfast, lunch, supper? we are staying at the Mercure in Nimes Ouest, but don't necessarily want to eat there. We are mainly going to see the Roman things, but is there anything else an eleven year old would especially like to do there? Also, it will be too difficult and expensive to get around by taxi. I need to get from nimes to barcelona in order to catch a late morning flight home to ibiza on 4th January. Can i get an overnight train?
How often do trains leave Nimes for Barcelona? and any idea on price??
Would i be better off travelling the day before and staying overnight in barcelona?

I'm planning a weekend break Oct. 14 - 16th for a small group (4 - 7) of friends to celebrate 2 of the groups 40th birthdays. Nimes looks like the fave destination (Cheapest Ryanair flights!/best times etc)
So far, We've visited Istanbul (twice in Winter),Ostend, Dublin, Prague and Amsterdam together- individually, We've visited other more obscure places.

We're planning to arrive late afternoon Friday- so
1. We'll probably head for a meal, a few bars- then- are there any clubs/late night venues? Our musical tastes are probably more Rock orientated than Dance/House etc, but We'll take our chances!We'll even consider an Opera performance at the ampitheatre.
2.Saturday will be sightseeing etc in daytime, Are the markets open on Saturday? Any special shops to visit- i.e. specialist food shops/ music shops/clothes etc.
Saturday night- recommendations please for a 'special restaurant' - not too fancy, but with a good atmosphere, local food etc.
3. Sunday morning- few hours to spare before returning to the airport- any special events/ must see's i.e markets.
Any info would be welcome- I've enjoyed reading your pages on Nimes, but would welcome additional tips, so I can arrange an itinary :-)

I can't find timetables. I want to get to Arles (Early June) by bus if possible. Are there any services from the terminal or main Nimes to Arle road.
I think this info would be very helpful to others as well.

How often does the bus run from the airport to Nimes as a last resort? (Trains connect to Arles from Nimes but what a waste of tourist time.)

I would really like to see the Pont du Gard, however i only have one afternoon to do it, in which i am travelling from Nice to Annecy by train. If i took the train from Nice to Nimes or Avignon, how long would it take to take the bus to and from the bridge? Is there a schedule posted online anywhere? Which city would be best to go from (Nimes or Avignon)? Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated! Help please!

I still have 10 weeks left of a 10 1/2 week holiday. I brought a fairly nice camera with me, but a drink spilled in my bag... now it won't work. I'm in London until early Monday morning, then I'm flying into Nimes, then going straight to Barcelona. Where can I buy a cheap camera (not disposable) that uses 35 mm film (I have 15 rolls of the stuff)??? I'm hoping to spend $20 dollars or less.

I've looked online for this information, but I can't seem to find it. I need to go from Nimes (France) to Barcelona on Feb. 1st. I already have a eurail pass, so price doesn't much matter. BUT, I do need to know what the train schedule is... when does the train from nimes leave for Barcelona? Also, will I have to pay a supplement for this train? I need to know ASAP so that I can book a place to stay in Barcelona, and if needed, in Nimes. Also, can anyone suggest a cheap place to stay in Nimes??? I haven't found anything yet, although I've looked on pretty much every hostel booking site known to man!!

I will be at Nimes during the Feria de Pentecote in May and want to attend a bullfight. Can I get tickets here in the US? The web site for the arenes doesn't seem to have that capacity. If I can't get tickets on-line before going, how hard is it to get tickets when you are there?
Any info appreciated.
