I am arriving from Paris on the TGV into Nimes but would like to know the address of that station so I can print a map to find my friends from there

How far are Tour Magne,Port Auguste,Port de France and Jardins de la Fontaine from the Nimes railway station. Can I see these places in 4 to 5 hours..

Are they in walking distance?? If not, is there a local bus which will take me to those places? If I get a taxi, how much would be the fare to the farthest point?

trying to get to istres by train from barcelona. since there doesn't seem to be an active istres forum, thought i'd ask here at nimes since it's the major city before istres. assuming i get to nimes from barcelona by train, is there a train that can take me straight to istres? if not, what's the nearest train station to istres that i should try to get to? other suggestions as to how to get there are most welcome.

I would like to find the bus schedule or train schedule from NImes to Avingon and Arles. I cannot find it I was wondering if anyone can help me with this?

Hello, we are flying to nimes on the 20th. Does anyone know any local car rental companies? not the big names that take 800 to 1000e deposit but local ones. We went to carcassonne and rented local, it cost less and we didnt get ripped off. Any info would be a great help. Many thanks for reading.

Will there be tickets available for trains between Nimes and Avignon on the evening of 7th April? We're trying to get a train after 1830hrs, the RailEurope website aren't any trains showing after 1804hrs.

I am trying to get from Nimes airport to Gordes(preferably) or Avignon and do not speak french so cannot find any information. Is there a direct train or bus connection from the airport or do I have to go into Nimes?

Hi, My name is steve and i will in landing nImes on march 4th but traveling to montpellier the same day. I know that there are trains that connect the two for about 7.50. But i saw on the montpellier city bus website that a local route(101 i think) goes from montpellier to nimes and nimes to montpellier. I was wondeiring if anyone could tell me a little more about this bus. How much it costs? if it's worth it? etc. Thanks for your time. steve

Hello, as part of our honeymoon in late Jul / early Aug my fiancee and I are going to Provence for about 9 days. Here is our rough itinerary.

The plan is to TGV from Paris to Nimes, then go to:
* Nimes (stay overnight)
* Arles (stay overnight)
* Les Baux
* Avignon (stay 2 nights)
* Chateauneuf-du-Pape
* Orange
* Cotes du Rhone winery area, e.g. Le Crestet / Suzette (stay overnight)
* Vaison la Romaine
* Carpentras
* L'Isle sur la Sorgue
* Gordes (stay overnight)
* Roussillon
* Aix en Provence (stay 2 nights)
* Cassis / Les Calanques
* Marseille (stay 2 nights)

Back to Paris on the TGV.

Any thoughts on where to see, where to go, where to avoid, where to stay? Thanks for your help. I'm going to put this on some of the other Provence city boards.

I'm arriving Marseille on Thursday at 23.10 and I'm going to Nimes to meet a friend. Are there any buses or trains at this time? Or is the only option to stay the night in Marseille and go by train the next day? Thank you!

I am flying in from Liverpool and need to get to Aix en Provence. Is there a train, coach or bus from Nimes airport, or Nimes itself, to Aix en Provence? I tried looking on the rail web sites but got nowhere (excuse the pun)
Perhaps someone can advise which site to book or whether booking is necessary.

We will be arriving Nimes Monday evening with Ryanair. Should we stay in Nimes or is ther more nightlife elsewhere- we'll only be in the area for three nights- so we don;t really want to end up in a town that closes up at 8 on Monday. So any ideas on how to plan the itinerary appreciated. Maybe Marseilles Monday night, Avignon Tuesday and Nimes Wednesday? Or simply stay in marseilles the whole time? One more question- does anyone know if it is easy to get to see the old Air France caravelle in a field near Avignon? Anf the air museum at Montelimar? Are they close by and easily accesible?

I am going to be staying in Nimes this September and I'm planning a day trip that goes from Nimes to Montpellier to Aigues Mortes and then back to Nimes. Can you please advise me the best/cheapest way to do this trip. My plan was to take the train to Montpellier, then a bus to Aigues Mortes, and then a train back to Nimes. Is there a return train ticket I can buy that is cost effective, or will I have to buy a single ticket from Nimes to Montpellier, and then a single ticket from Aigues Mortes to Nimes? I'm flying in to Nimes and need to meet friends at the TGV Station outside Avignon. Anyone got any idea how much a taxi would cost?

Is there a city bus that will take you from the train/bus station to Castellum?

I would like to know if there is a bus from Nimes station to the vacinity of St. Anastasie which is about 25 minutes drive. And help much appreciated.
