Palau Honeymoon places to stay, fishing, price
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 11:11 AM UTC
Hi All,

does anyone know if there is some bugalow accommodation, right on the beach suitable for some budget concious honeymooners?

In regards to meals, accommodation, activities how cheap is Palau? How would it compare to Thailand?

If you can help, thank you advance and as a little side note, if anyone has gone fishing in Palau I would love to hear your stories!

Cheers

Thailand Experiences of Thai culture: backpacking versus 'resort tourism'
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 10:24 AM UTC
Hi everyone,

I'm doing a university assignment on the different experiences you get of the culture and local people when you backpack through Thailand, as opposed to staying in resorts. My approach is that you get a better experience of the culture and people when you backpack.

I'm posting on here so that hopefully some of you will be able to comment on my claims, maybe even have some examples for me

Thank you for any help,

Ashleigh.

Sharm El Sheikh Any advice welcome!
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 10:07 AM UTC
Hi everyone, my partner and I are travelling to Jaz Mirabel Beach Resort Hotel on 3rd November, has anyone stayed there? It's our first time to Egypt and we are going for a chill out week without the children.............bliss!!
Just need some general advice really, Currency? mosquito's? Visa's? Best trips? Tipping is a worry as we are staying all inclusive, but after reading some reviews on other sites some say its still better to tip as service gets better! Is there much hassle when shopping? Any essentials we must take from home to make our holiday a hassle free one? Sorry to ask so many questions but its better to be in the know from fellow travellers who have had the experience.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Heidi

Belgium Where to relax and taste beer at the end of the day..
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 09:25 AM UTC
Hi!
We are going to Belgium next friday. Our plan is to spend the day watching monuments, cathedrals, museums...and then at the end of the day we love to relax in pubs...having a beer..or two.
So which pubs do you recomend? We are going to be in Brussels, Gent, and Bruges. What do locals use to eat while enjoying their beer?

Thank you very much.

Italy Milan Malpensa airport to Lake Garda - family of 6 - help!
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 09:18 AM UTC
I have a few questions!

1.We will be arriving late from the UK (10pm at least) next July and I need to find somewhere to stay close to the airport for 2 adults and 4 young children. Do any hotels/guest houses facilitate families of this size assuming we would like to share 1 room?

2. Milan Malpensa to Lake Garda - transportation for a family this large is complicated to say the least (as well as expensive) - what would be the easiest route for us, and cheapest? (bus, train? My mind is spinning!)

Hope someone can help.

Hi will be stopping in Bath in November but I wont arrive till after 5 maybe 6pm.
Will there be anything touristy still open at night for me to visit as I havent been before and always wanted too. Also could you recoment a nice restaurant to take the better half to and maybe a nice pub for a drink.

Be setting off for yeovil just before 12 the next day, so I will only have a few hours of tourism any recomendations of what I should not miss.

I'll try and give myself more time next time :-)

Romania 2 weeks in Romania
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 08:56 AM UTC
Hi there nice and early in advance but im a plan early kind of guy.
Hoping to visit Romania in June next year. Big ask but looking for a suggested itinery as being honest I dont know that much about the place apart from Vlad and the fact the scenery looks amazing.
Also advise other transport. Its seeming like I will fly into Budapest as it seems much cheaper to fly to from (North West England) I assume its easy to get into Romania from there?

Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 08:50 AM UTC
hi everybody out there!

can somebody tell untill how late the bus no 16 operates from airport to the city and every when it departs?
i worry a little more because i arrive there at early night time (19.00) and might not be so comfortable or safe to search on the spot and wait around.
some tips on VT just mention that there is such a bus but few information further than that.
many thanks if you can make it bring up more specialized info on this!

World Winter Clothing, new Delhi

Hi

I'm travelling to the Golden Triangle, India 2nd half December 08. Wish to know if I could purchase good winter clothing there as I'll be going to MUSSOORIE, a hill station, snowing and all. If you know, it'll be good to know some price indication as well.

Winter Wear are too expensive to buy it in Malaysia.

New Delhi New Delhi airport congestions?
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 08:31 AM UTC
Hi Globies
I plan my next voyage. Is this true (what agent said) that you need minimum 4 hours to get from international flight to domestic one in New Delhi airport? That's what the agents have in their system... I went through this limit buying two separate tickets. I will have 2 hours 20 minutes for change - is this enough? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Sri Lanka Galle?? December beaches with Children
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 08:14 AM UTC
I have trawled through some of the past posts, and didn't see an answer yet, so wanted to pose it now. My sister is contemplating coming to Sri Lanka for Christmas and New Year, but her biggest concern is the state of the seas around Galle at that time of year. She has three kids from ages 3 til 9, and is worried that the sea might be a bit too rough for the youngest. I've recently moved to Sri Lanka and now live on the east coast, and haven't yet had the chance to travel around much, but the one thing I know is that around the east, December will be monsoon so not ideal for her kids. She has identified a beautiful luxury villa beach-side around Galle, but needs to figure out the water conditions before booking (or heading to Brazil instead!!)

Suggestions for any other areas that might be calm seas also welcome.

Thanks,

Munich Train from Bolzano to Munich airport to catch a 12:45pm flight
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 07:59 AM UTC
Hello. I just moved to val di fassa. I will have a ride to Bolzano where I plan to catch a train to the Munich airport for an international flight leaving at 12:45pm on a Tuesday at the end of October. Do you have suggestions on how I can book a train ticket, how early the train leaves, how much time I will need to get from Bolzano to the check-in counter at the Munich airport. I am nervous about this trip and I only speak English. Is this trip possible? Thank you so very much for any and all help!

Corfu Island corfu..santorini...athina...delhpi!
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 07:39 AM UTC
Hello,

I would like to know what would be the best way to cover the following places: Corfu->Santorini->Athina->Delphi

I will be flying into Corfu.

Hence following are my questions regarding the route:
1. How long does it take to take a ferry from Corfu to Santorini, and how much does it cost?
2. Santorini to Athina: cost and time. How far is the main sights area in athina from the dock/harbour.
3. Athina to delphi: mode of transport, time and cost?
4. Is olympia a better chice or delphi?

Also, I would like to continue my journey to Italy...so is Athina better to fly out from?

Thank you all!
