Puerto Pirámides Las Restingas Hotel
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 04:20 AM UTC
Has anyone been to the Las Restingas hotel? Or can anyone tell me what the local neighborhood is like? There is one review on Tripadvisor that says that there is a noisy nightclub across the street that makes sleeping impossible. ( All other reviews seem to be blatant fakes. )

United Kingdom Bath or York?
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 04:20 AM UTC
I will pay a visit to UK in early October, spend 13 days. Have already planned for London, Edinburgh, Glasgow & Fort William.

The question is, I have 1 extra blank day for York or Bath, I can choose either but not both. Which one is more attractive for an architecture-lover? Besides, If the one has a different style than the other cities we have already seen, it would be more preferable. OR, are there any other suggestions?

thank you who would reply!

Istanbul istanbul, greece, italy -- 19 days
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 04:01 AM UTC
Hi there,
a friend and myself decided to book a 'stop over' (in greece or italy) on our way home...this 'stop over' recently emerged into a sizable add on to our original trip of egypt and jordan. We stop in Istanbul.. the agent suggested we trek through greek and italy... we have approximately 19 days... to make it to rome to catch our flight home.

i was wondering if anyone could suggest some highlights for us to visit in turkey, greece and italy.
we hope to focus our travels between greece and italy. ideally we were interested in focusing upon traveling through italy north of rome... where would you suggest? what is the most effective way around? train? affordable places to stay?

as for greece i dont really know a ton about the geography. i've heard that santorini is amazing- athens, delhi, and corfu also sound very interesting.... could anyone suggest where to focus our travels? how to get around?

what would be the most efficient/affordable transportation from istanbul--> greece----> italy??

would you suggest traveling this independent or on a tour?

any tips, tricks or advice would be appreciated.
thanks for your time!

Nepal Langtang trek
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 03:49 AM UTC
Hi, I'm going to be in Nepal on the 23rd September, and am thinking of doing a 10-14 day trek through Langtang National Park. I will probably pay a porter to carry my bag (should cost about $12 a day for that). Seeking a trekking partner to share in the experience. I'm easy going, and enjoy a laugh. I'm flexible with my plans, but need to be back in Kathmandu around about the 7th October as I'm doing some volunteer teaching near Kathmandu. Let me know if any of the above is of interest... I picked Langtang cos it's closest to Kathmandu and requires the least amount of time. I can be persuaded to change plans if you have any better ideas!!! Otherwise if Langtang takes your fancy, please get in touch!

Bellagio lezzeno/bellagio to bergamo airport - early
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 12:21 AM UTC
We are a family of four and will be staying in Lezzeno, near Bellagio, at the end of October. We need to make it back to Bergamo airport on Monday 27th October for a 10am flight home (so need to get to the airport around 9am). Is it possible to make it to the airport this early on public transport - we had hoped not to have to hire a car during our stay.

Thanks very much

Echternach Dinant to Echternach + accomodation
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 12:10 AM UTC
My husband and I will be leaving Dinant Belgium for Echternach. Unfortunately, i can't seem to find the cost of train 2nd class from Dinant to Echternach.
1)Is there a direct train?
2)How much will it cost? one way?
3) From there we will stay for 4 nights and head back to Amsterdam Central? Is there a direct train and how much for 2nd class?
The websites for train service in the Netherlands and Belgium only show cost for internal and domestic services.
4) Does anybody know of a good B and B near the Echternach train station. We are an elderly couple and we would like to find budget accomodation near the staion. a budget hotel would also be fine. many thanks for your help

Victoria Microbreweries
Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 12:00 AM UTC
I am looking for microbrewery/brew pub recommendations in Victoria. Most
interested in sampling the best locally brewed beer in the area, love the gritty
places where you sit amongst the brewing equipment much more than the upscale
gastro-brew pub scene (we are there for the beer rather than the food!) Any
recommendations you would care to share?

I don't want to be where there is a lot of partying. I also want a clean place to stay with instructors that are kind and understanding. We will be traveling to Ko Tao Feb.8-12th.2009. Melaka Melaka to KL?
Posted: Sun September 7, 2008 10:52 PM UTC
Thanks to kentut besar and cochinjew, I was able to book Grassland Express tickets online(leaving Golden Mile Shopping Centre, Beach Road) from Singapore to Melaka.

I will also be traveling from Melaka to KL, and then KL to Penang. Grassland Express does not go from Melaka to KL. What bus companies might make these two trips? Where can I buy the tickets? My trip is in December. thanks!

Spain Where to go after Madrid? Suggestions
Posted: Sun September 7, 2008 10:22 PM UTC
Hi i arrive in Madrid on 9th september for 2 days, then would like to go elsewhere for 2-3 days. Was thnking of Valencia or San Sebastian, ideally on the coast line beach that has a traditional spain feel and also a nightlife as am young. I have been to barcelona so not looking to go there. have been looking to travel by train 3-5 hours maximum and under 70-80 euros.
Perhaps even hire a small car for 2-3 days so would like names of rental firms.

Any Advice welcomed.

Shanghai New Years Eve & Top 5 sights in Shanghai
Posted: Sun September 7, 2008 10:17 PM UTC
Hi Guys,

I will be in Shanghai in December for 5 weeks. I just wonted to know from all you experts out there what are the 5 must see sights in shanghai? I have read around but wonted to get the advice from people who have actually experienced first hand these sights. Also, Im looking to celebrate New Years Eve in a more traditional atmosphere. Coming from Sydney, Australia I have had my fair share of fireworks and explosive New Years Eve's and would love to experience something completely different.

Eagerly awaiting your responses
