North Vancouver a few days tour
Posted: Tue September 14, 2004 02:55 PM UTC
I will be going to Vancouver, BC in a month or two for just a few days. What would be something that I should do that is so special about Vancouver. I'm not in Museum etc. Prefer sigh seeing, walk around chinatown etc. Would love to have a tour guide that live around Vancouver Downtown.

You should go to see and walk over Capilano Bridge and then ride up the Grouse mountain.
Walk around Stanley Park.
Shop down at Gass Town.
Canada Place is where you will find big ships going to Alaska.
Have fun!

I suggest the following things to see:

1. Stanley Park: there is a seawall of 9km (5.5miles) around the edge of the park where you have wonderful views over the city, ocean and mountains around every corner. In the park there is the Vancouver Aquarium, giftshops, totempoles, restaurants and also lots of walking trails that bring you through the thick forest of the park.

2. Lynn Canyon/Valley Park, North Vancouver: It has a suspension bridge, waterfalls, hiking trails and the most popular attraction in the summer is the "30 Foot Pool". There is also an Ecology Centre where you can find out more about this rainforest, nature and much more.

3. Downtown Vancouver: The Canada Place, a lovely building with white sails. From here you can go to Gastown, touristy area with lots of giftshops and a steam clock. Robson Street for shopping, follow this street down to Denman and from there you can go to English Bay, a beautiful beach. And there is also Chinatown, interesting area to see.

4. Granville Island and its public market: Here you can find a public covered market, a big selection of stores and the finest eating establishments. In this place you can spend an hour or a whole day. This is a cozy place to wonder around, go to a restaurant, enjoy the views, etc...

For good guided tours you might want to take the Vancouver Trolley. It takes you to different places in the city and around the city. Have a look at: http://www.vancouvertrolley.com/

Hope this helps,
Take care and have a nice trip,
Ann

Hahahaha, Robert! Honestly...yes I do copy and paste...too much work to rewrite it! I just go back in my notices to find what I wrote before. Hahahahaha!

I used to write it out each and everytime...but I got tired of that and didn't feel like responding in the forums as there is too much to tell! ;) Anyhow, it finally hit me that I could copy and paste! Woohooo!

Have a nice day...although the weather isn't all that fantastic on my day off! : ( Oh well...I am travelling virtually! : )

Take care,
Ann
