I'm surprising some friends in Bridlington and I'm flying in to Manchester from the US. Ive never been to the Uk before and I was wondering what would be the fastest and least expensive way to gt from Manchester to Bridlington?????

Cheapest...hm...not sure but probably my first alternative. Bus is almost always a lot cheaper than train in the UK if you cannot book in advance.

You catch the National Express shuttle coach Manchester Central - Leeds. There, you get on the Yorkshire Coastliner buses.

There is also a possibility to catch a train to York and get on the coastliner there if that sounds nicer.

Otherwise, you can get a train from Manchester to Hull and then catch a local bus up the coast. The thing is there are not that many direct trains (2 hrs) so for most of them, you need to change at York anyway!

The bus is the cheapest option - there is probably a direct bus from Manchester Airport to Leeds but in Leeds you would have a 15 minute walk from the train station to the bus station and then the Coastliner bus to Bridlington takes forever although the journey is very nice especially after York.
The quickest option is to take a direct train from Manchester Airport to Bridlington. Some only go as far as Hull and then you change to another train to Bridlington. Total journey time under three hours as opposed to at least five or six by bus.
If you want the train price and times send me a mesage and I will get details.
Bridlington is a very nice town - the harbour area is good for walking around and the fish and chips are the best.
Enjoy your stay - if you want more information let me know.
