| Chonju | Yeogwan/Hotels in Chonju Posted: Tue August 31, 2004 05:05 AM UTC
My partner, whom I haven't seen in many months, and I will be spending a few nights in Chonju. His korean is passable. Does anyone have any ideas for a cheap, clean place? Or any warnings of where to avoid.
Thank you! |

Hello,
If your priority is a cheap yet comfortable place to stay, you can try a yeogwan (Korean motel). I've stayed in these all over Korea, and found them to be generally of similar quality. They are very basic and clean and comfortable, and usually cost 25,000-35,000 won/night. They're all over Korea, and easy to find. There's almost always room, so there's no need for a reservation. You can just pick one you like the looks of or that's in a convenient location and ask to see the room. They also sometimes use "motel" in the name of the place, but it's the same as a yeogwan. If you want to shop around for a slightly nicer place, try http://www.worldinn.com (click on the tab for "Jeonju"). Good luck, and enjoy your reunion! S.
