San Gimignano Question
Posted: Tue August 24, 2004 02:19 PM UTC
I'm in the final stages of planning our late September trip. We are planning a day trip, leaving from Chianti in Radda to San G with an option to go on to Volterra.

Iten Option #1 is to go to San G in the morning, lunch then on to Volterra (or not & stay the day)
or
Option # 2
Go to Volterra, lunch then to San G in the afternoon leaving around 6:00 pm (Sundown at 7:20 pm)

Any thoughts?????

theres a good chance everything will be closed in the afternoon in san Gimignano, we got to Montalcino at 1:30 in the afternoon and everything was closing up, as it was cold and windy up there on that day we opted not to hang around for a few hours waiting for things to re-open so we missed most of it. I would imagine the shops in San g. would be the same way.
