| Hunza | Cycling in northern Pakistan Posted: Sat August 21, 2004 03:55 PM UTC
I hope you can help me. I am travelling to Pakistan and will eb cycling in the northernareas. What woudl you advise I wear? Do I have to keep my legs completely covered? I wondered about gettig some loose trousers that unzip at the calf, unzipping and zipping back up as I entered populated areas.
Glad of any ideas. |

It's better to have your legs completely covered because of the customs of local people in northern areas but even if you wear long shorts no one will say anything to you as locals are use to and friendly to foreigners. Also if you are planning to travel between November and March, weather could be cold and you will need to cover your legs because of cold weather.
Another suggestion is that you should be extremely fit because travelling on bycycle through KKH could be a tough task ascending around 10000 ft at times with low oxygen up there. Anyway you will love the scenery. If you want any other information regarding Pakistan you would be more than welcome.
