We have arranged to travel to Sint Maateen this October. We are going with our 5 year old daughter. It seems like people are free to go topless at many of the beaches. Is this a good destination to take your kids to. Are there activities for kids on the island?

All depends on your "attitude" with the clothing optional decision. If you don't make a "big deal" about it I suspect a 5-year old will probably not even notice.

If you're uncomfortable about it, just go to a different part of the beach.

Some beaches are topless and others are completely nudist beaches. Here in Puerto Rico, they sell tours to St. Marteen as for honeymoon or couples vacations.

As the other friend told you, it depends on your attitude toward it.. On the other hand, as your trip had been arranged already, you can check with your travel agency about the beaches that are not of this kind, so you dont have any further surprise.

There are many things for kids to do on the island - she'll have a great time. I would go into the trip with a very open mind - although Americans have very conservative views of topless & nudist beaches, other cultures are very comfortable with their bodies & it's a very natural thing to do this.

Well in St. Maarten people on the beach can go topless but at all my visits there I haven't seen that much topless....
Actually the locals dont really like it....if tourist go topless...

Dont worry about the topless thing there are soooo many beaches on St. Maarten its easy to choose one you like the best and your daughter is going to have a great time there !
