I am an Australian who is travelling California. My 90 day holiday visa is almost up and i still have so much to see. Does anyone know where i can fly to to get another 90 days? I have heard that Mexico and Canada used to work but does not anymore. I am hoping that Costa Rica would work but need to know that it will for sure.

(I will check when I get to work to see if I can find anything out for you. You might be able to just get an extension without leaving the U.S., but as I am a citizen here I've never needed to extend my stay <grin>)

Canada is fine, for example if you go to Vancouver for the weekend just fill in another visa waver when you fly back in and you will have another 90 days just make sure you hand your current one in to customs when you are leaving

I couldn't find much specifically about if canada/mexico was or was not an authorized place to allow you to renew your visa here in the U.S. It appears that if you were given a form I-94 (arrival/departure record) that you turn that in at the border/airport wen you leave. If you have a machine readable passport you will not have to have apply for a visa prior to arriving in the US. I could not find anything about minimum time out of country or anything like that, just that you need to turn in the i-94 when you leave and get a new one when you return.

There was another section I found about extending your stay, but that requires you to do so before the end of your 90 days and I didn't search that any further so I don't know all the things required for that.
