Hi there planning a trip to Sydney during christmas-new year - really looking for a great boutique hotel - something along the lines of the Hempel or Blakes in London/Amsterdam - been looking at the W Hotel and really not sure about the location of it -any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Jonathan

I've got a hotel review of the W Hotel and a background of Woolloomooloo on my Sydney page.

The W Hotel is situated on the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf next to the Domain and makes an excellent base, being literally 10 mins walk from the centre of town. There are also a number of great bars and restaurants on the wharf, with the world famous Harry's Cafe de Wheels literally outside the front door.

Have fun - Sydney is an awesome city! :-)

hey, don't get too excited about Harrys Cafe de Wheels!
Sure their food tastes great at 4am after a night of beer drinking, but what wouldn't?

The Finger Wharf is a great area. YOu will get a special view of the harbour that most people don't get to see.
Some good restaurants and bars and close to the city.
Hey you even have a harbour side swimming pool 5 minutes from your hotel.
