New International Airport

Who of you have already been to renovated and rebuilded Vnukovo airport? Is it really as good as it is advertised?

(New international terminal was opened in Vnukovo in April 2004, and today it was connected with Kievskiy RR Terminal with a train line. Now Moscow has 3 airports - Vnukovo, the biggest and the best till now - Domodedovo, and the eldest and the urgliest - Sheremetjevo).

Never used it yet but I want to join the thread as I am interested. Which airlines are flying to the new airport? Would be interested to know about the train service, too. I agree that Sheremetyevo is a shambles. Too bad most of the flights I take are from there. I much prefer Domodedevo. Poka, Bill.

Bill, the new train connection has been just launched between Vnukovo and Kievsky Railway station in Moscow, it is claimed that it takes 30 mins one way.

As for the airport, I used it myself past winter right after new year, the international departure hall i used was that old ugly one. But a couple of my friends went there 2 months ago, they told me that the brand new international departure hall was opened and it's pretty decent.

Thanks M. Much appreciated. How are you? Summer travel plans? My Russian visa will expire on the weekend and it will take me no less than 4-weeks to get a new one, once my boss decides he will pay for it. Therefore, I will not be in Moscow before September. Maybe then I can try this new airport. But, still don't know which airlines are using it? Have a nice weekend. Ciao. Bill.
