I am looking to rent a vacation rental close to Greve Italy from a company called Chianti and More. Has anyone rented from this company? How to you check out a company to find out if they are legit as anyone can set up a web site. I need to send an American Bank Check and I don't want to just lose my money.

This is the restricted public access to the official enterprises and companies database of Italy: the name is there, as a real estate agent.
My guess "Chianti & More" isn't a company (i could not find it), but a "single person enterprise" of Mrs Dietz., a sort of "commercial name" or the person.
Of course, the fact she is registered does not guarantee everything will be ok, but it is a good start.

Hard to find more on the internet, unless someone knows it... I'm too far, sorry.

Chianti and More is one of the best vacation rental companies in Tuscany. The onwer is Karin Dietz and her premises are, as indicated on her excellent web site, http://www.chianti-and-more.com, at Piazza Bucciarelli 47, 50020 Panzano in Chianti (FI). Strongly recommended. You must be a moron if you think someone set up that web site to cheat you out of your American Bank Check.
