New Year's Eve

Hiya!

I am thinking of spending the next New Year's Eve in Liverpool (Flights are soooo cheap thats why I am a bit early with planning ;). What I wondered was.....

Is there anything to do in town (not being invited to a private party I mean)? Where do people celebrate in Liverpool? Are there tourists here in winter?

Does anybody have recommendations regarding accommodation maybe? Hostel or B&B would be nice.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hiya,

About New Years Eve, well if you are not going to a party somewhere, then you will need to buy a ticket to get into most of the pubs and clubs around the city. And they really put the prices up, not just for the entry fee but for the drinks too! Cheeky things! I can't really say where people tend to go, but everywhere in town is usually very busy. The last few years I've gone away for New Year, but the last New Year I went out in Liverpool, I went to Wonderbar, Slater Street. That was a really good night, but like I said that was a few years ago. It also depends on what type of music you like? Have you been to Liverpool before? Will you be coming with someone or meeting someone here?

As for accommodation, I'm not really sure about that one. If you are looking for something in town, then I wouldn't stay in the Adelphi Hotel, I've heard so many horror stories about that place! And I really don't know anything about B&B's or hostels. Try this website www.visitliverpool.com/displaypage.asp?page=68.

I hope you enjoy your visit if you do decide to come over.

Good luck!

hiya i live and work in liverpool......
most years theres big firework display by the albert dock, but thats dependant on the weather....As the other lady said theres tons of pubs and clubs in town centre but the prices are inflated and you need to buy in advance in lot of places......The likes of matthew st etc you will be able to pay on the door and there all open till 2am,some clubs open later but you will need ticket.
The marriot hotel in queens squares nice but expensive, the likes of the moat house, the holiday inn on lime st, ibis and formula one by the albert dock will be lot cheeper and close to pubs etc...
