Hi guys, i'll be in kotor, montenegro middle of december 2004 and trying to rush back to asia on time for christmas. what would be the best route (fast and CHEAP) to take?

1) by car from montenegro to croatia, fly from croatia to frankfurt, fly from frankfurt to singapore

OR

2) by car from montenegro to croatia, fly from croatia to london, fly from london to singapore/malaysia

OR

3) another route

1a) how far/how long will it take to drive from montenegro to croatia?

2a) are there any budget airlines (ryanair, easyjet, bmi) that fly from montenegro or somewhere near montenegro like croatia, to london or italy (rome)?

It sounds like you are in a bit of a hurry. I believe Belgrade had the biggest international airport in the Balkans. I think that may be the cheapest for you.

Ryan air doesn't fly into Belgrade yet... much to my dismay. I could use some more inexpensive tickets... hopefully soon.

From Kotor, the cheapest is the bus... December is a little dicey for transportation. It is off peak for travel to the coast... but they still run to Belgrade.

If you are unsure call a travel agent. They always have the hookups.... i usually call several... and the airlines to see who they are partnered with. That's your best bet.

Croatia Airlines has direct flights from Dubrovnik to Frankfurt, and also from Dubrovnik to London. British Airways also flies Dubrovnik-London direct. It is both Heathrow and Gatwick.
I'm afraid this is not very cheap, but if you book early (now) you could find affordable prices. You can also take the bus from Kotor to Dubrovnik.

From Dubrovnik in Croatia and from Bar in Montenegro you can take the ferry to Bari in Italy. Ryanair flies from Bari and from Brindisi that is also not too far.
Ferry company for Dubrovnik - Bari route is Jadrolinija. I'm not sure about Bar - Bari route, think it is Italian Adriatica.

Forgot to add budget airlines from Croatia: if you book early you can fly very cheap by SkyEurope from Dubrovnik to their hubs in Bratislava and Budapest - from there you can catch their other flights to Germany / England.

Same goes for GermanWings from Split - they fly direct to Cologne/Bonn. I think you can take the train from Cologne Airport to Frankfurt.
