Try these for starters, if you put Day tours WA in a search you will get plenty of answers.

Heres a few to start with
The Pinacles, north of Perth
Tree top walk at Walpole
Stirling ranges
Caves at Margaret river
Fremantle Jail
Wave rock at Hyden
Kalgoorlie super pit
Rotnest Island
Kings Park

If you want more info give me a shout

Hi K,

Scottish tourism info at:

http://www.visitscotland.com/

and Perthshire:

http://www.perthshire.co.uk/

Perth is the 'gateway to the highlands' - looking south though, it must also be the 'gateway to the lowlands'. So, you can visit Glasgow or Edinburgh or Stirling...or wherever really, in addition to going north for scenery etc.

The cities could be done as day trips.

Trains:

General public transport:

Regards
Steven

As you can see from my Scotland Tips, and my Perth / Tayside Tips ... there is a lot of choice.

Thanks for writing on my home page too - I am here to help. We will be in USA I think, but until we leave I can answer all your questions and provide lots of info mixed with local insight.

This is what VT is best at!

Best wishes from Perth

Malcolm

Thanks for your help!!!! I believe Perth is not that far away from Edinburgh. Is it possible to catch a train early and do some tours from Endinburgh for the day...?? Anything you recommend in particular that is a must see. I will be on my own during the week.. so it would be cool to find a tour.. but on the same hand.. I don't want to end up on a coach with a bunch of over 60's. :-)

K,

For trains, see above:

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/planmyjourney/

For tours:

There are open bus tours of Edinburgh city, tours of the old town wich is is now buried under the existing town, tours of haunted graveyards (really), galleries a plenty.

One of my favourite edinburgh tours involves buying a £2.20 day pass for the buses and visiting all my favourite pubs...maybe that's not what you're looking for though.

Try:

http://www.witcherytours.com/

Just found this place:

http://www.edinburghcastle.biz/links.html

There's a whole hell of a lot of Edinburgh info there.

Cheers
S
