Padova Painless Italian?
Posted: Thu July 22, 2004 03:16 AM UTC
I'm going to be in Padua for several weeks next spring and would enjoy taking an Italian class while I'm there, but the only school I've found on line--Instituto Bertrand Russell-- sounds grammar based and rather tedious. I'm looking for something that includes both grammar and conversation. Or, does someone know of a place to post a notice for an Italian tutor. I hope to have some basic Italian under my belt by then. I speak French and am a former language teacher, so not a novice to this world--want a really good class, if I can find one. Any advice from people living in Padua or who know the city well? Thanks. Linda

Ciao!

After a quick search...
from the local University:
("universa universi patavina libertas" is the motto, after all)
http://claweb.cla.unipd.it/cla/lincla_corsi_ita.html
It's in italian, of course ;-)

a private institute i don't know:
http://www.cdlingue.com/it/stranieri.htm

a public school:
http://scuolaworld.provincia.padova.it/petrarca/serv01.htm

Hope this helps..
check mapakettle padua pages ( http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/6dbdd/ ) for more...

Buona fortuna!

Francesco

Thanks so much for your response! I'm sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. I would love to have the contact info for your friend who teaches Italian, though I may not get in touch with her right away.

Thanks again,

Linda
