| Rotorua | Maori Experience...During the day? Posted: Wed July 21, 2004 01:57 PM UTC
Greetings,
My family are planning a trip to the North Island in late September. I have two young sons, age 3 & 6. We want to expose them to the Maori culture, but it looks like all of the events take place in the evening and we are afraid that our boys may fall asleep. Are there day time Maori events? Many thanks in advance! Cheers! |

I'm not knocking culture, but for boys ages 3 and 6 you have to take them to the downhill car racing track. Its a blast and safe for young kids

Hi
If you are planning on going to Rotorua by any chance, go to Whakarewarewa. They have geysers and mud pools etc as well as the maori village which has shows and traditional maori meals (hangi). They have daytime perfomances of a maori culture group which are during the day. If you are planning to have a hangi, I would advise you book in advance. Admission is $18 per adult, $9 per child 5 - 12yrs and under 5's are free. Try this website www.whakarewarewa.com Good luck with your travels
