Lofoten Transportation to Bodo
Posted: Tue July 20, 2004 05:12 PM UTC
Can anyone tell me whether there are regular ferries to Moskenes in the Lofoten Islands from Bodo. I (one person) cannot seem to make a booking online. I will be coming from Trondheim to Bodo by train and I only have about 24 hours to spend...I dont mind not spending too much time sleeping even !! I just dont want it to be a waste...for me to come and there be no ferries.

Can anyone help me out...by possibly providing me a website / phone number / ferry timetable.

Thanks a million !

For Moskenes Bodo, try

http://ovds.no/engelsk/timetable/?OpenDocument

They offer online booking, but you're right, they don't accept 1-person trips without a car. Then again, I don't think you'd have any problems securing a place if you're without a car. The mentioned link will give you the ferry timetables, click the "timetables" link.

There are at least to ferries operating now in summertime. Going all time, even "midnight"cruises.
As long as you don't have a car or motorbike you just walk onboard.
Comming by train; don't bother to walk through the railwaystation - just turn right when you come to the building, cross the road, turn right and walk untill the warehouse ends, turn left and straight ahead you have the ferry quay. All in all max 200 meters.
Bon voyage.
