Australia to Easter Island flights
Posted: Wed August 11, 2004 11:29 PM UTC
Hi!

Does anyone know of a carrier which flies direct to Easter Island from either Sydney or Melbourne?
I checked on Qantas.com & found the destination Easter Island but no schedule & fare. Called the airline up & the lady said Qantas doesn't fly. So, I gather it's a code-share flight. Lan Chile perhaps?
Anyone?

Thanks!

Hi Sharrie!

Lan Chile has flights to Isla de Pascua (Easter Island) from Santiago de Chile; I checked the information at www.lanchile.com; I did not find the English version, but I guess you can email them and ask. There is a pretty cheap promotion (229 US$) until October.

See you,
Andrea

Thank you both! Reason why I want to fly from Australia is because it's a much shorter route + I'm going to be in Australia at year end. So, hoping to go Easter Island for New Year from there.
I don't plan to fly Santiago & then back to Easter Island. That's a VERY long way & will involve going to U.S. & then down south & then back west.

From Australia or NZ, it's just in between the 2 continents.

Hello!!

Well, yes, Easter Island is an amazing place, and what you could do is try to fly from Australia to Papeete (Tahiti) and then you may fly with LAN to Easter Island.

Cheers!

Renzo

Hi there,

Ther way to get there is through a ticket wit LAN chile. You can take a Qantas flight to Tahiti adn then a LAN flight to Easter Island. The cheapest way to go back is fly onto Santiago and then take their direct flight back to Sydney. It is a really good deal. If you want some help send me an email: stuartparry@hotmail.com, I specialise in travel to South America and own a travel agency that helps with that.
