We are travelling to Cebu in December and staying at the Shangri La in Mactan, can anyone tell me how good this hotel is. Also is there enough to do to keep us there for two weeks (over Christmas and New Year)

Shangri-la Mactan is one of the high end hotels/resorts in the island. There is also Plantation Bay Resort and Maribago Beach, among others. There are quite a lot to do if you would not confine your 2 weeks within Cebu City only. Cover the entire Cebu Province, like Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Carcar, etc.
One of the VT members, Ellen, is from there so she could be of assistance to you.

From Cebu, you can take an inter-island ferry for a 2-hour ride to Bohol where you can see the famous Chocolate Hills and the rare tarsier (a small nocturnal primate) that's been featured in National Geographic.
The Shangrila is the top hotel in Mactan. Our reelected president wouldn't have had her inauguration ball there if it wasn't.

Shangri La, the best hotel in Cebu. What are you expecting from this vacation? ie beaches, snorkeling, land trips?
