Increased chances to be at Espoo during ~20 days from July 25. Very probable to go with kids (10 and 14 years old). Please inform what kind of activities are convenient for them at Espoo area. Main interests:
Technology, model cars and planes, biking, go karts, outside sports, amateur radio, Electronics and computer games. Thanks in advance!

Espoo is just next to Helsinki (and Vantaa) there are lots of possibilities for all what you mentioned, you just need to find out.
We have biking roads here, so it will be great for cycling, in Espoo and Vantaa for example there are many lakes around and beautiful nature.

I am not so sure about the technology bit in Espoo... Biking is fine in Espoo, provided you can rent bikes here somewhere...
The small problem with Espoo is the fact that it consists of many smaller centres and areas, like my own Tapiola; the nearby Matinkylä with the large shopping mall called Iso Omena ( Big Apple); Otaniemi with the University of Technology...
I have just listed a few places, but Espoo is an ideal place to travel around. You can travel to Helsinki either by local buses (still pretthy frequent, even though it's summer time and the timetables are modifiied); by train (depending on the area where you're going to stay).
Outside sports is ok here: tennis courts in Tapiola; the empty sports fields next to almost every elementary school; a large area ( a grass lawn) in Tapiola for outdoor soccer, frisbee etc. ( Yes, that could be it, really...)
It is possible to swim in Espoo as well as we do have many public beaches, some of them on islands at sea. If you like fishing, that, too, is possible.
I think I need to know where in Espoo you will be staying...?? Any idea yet?
Just let me know and I can see what I can do. ( I have my two nephews who know of the fishing etc in Espoo).
