Franschhoek self-catering cottages
Posted: Tue December 24, 2002 06:16 AM UTC
Has anyone been to any "self-catering" cottages in Franschhoek? The guidebook I have recommends Klein Dassenberg, Blueberry Hill, Owl Cottage, and several others. The prices quoted are only a bit more expensive than a private room at a hostel, and they sound really nice. Was wondering if they really are as nice as they are described, for such a low price? any recommendations?

Hi,

You could stay in Franschhoek, but probably you try one of the villages in the neigbourhood, as FH is quite expensive.Try Stellenbosch.
Have a look at my South African pages

I would rather trust the guide book. Franschhoek is one of the villages around the town of Stellenbosch - not the other way around. Granted that Franschhoek is one of the most expensive villages, but it is also the most scenic/idyllic with many fine resturants.
