I think it's about four hours from Accra to Lome, at the Togo border, then it takes a short while to cross - they're not all that thorough. Then Lome to Cotonou is perhaps 2 hours but you'll have to stop again and cross the Benin border and those folks ARE very thorough. The buses are very cheap in Accra - maybe 20,000 cedis from Accra to Lome? (about U.S. $2.00) and only slightly more expensive in Togo and Benin. The buses go often and are not on any schedule except that when they're full they go. Hint: If there's a billy goat being stuffed under your seat wait for the next bus - makes for too interesting of a trip.
