| Podgorica | accomodation in montenegro Posted: Thu July 1, 2004 08:55 PM UTC
Hallo dear travellers,
I`m going to montenegro in the end of july. I booked my flight and now I need some information about accomodations there (rather uncomfortable than expensive about 15-20€ ). I would like to go to podgorica, to the Durmitor area and to the east. And first of all, I need a place for two nights in Tivat because of my early flight. As this are few more questions, I generally like to ask, whether it is possible just to go to a tourist agency and find some effordable accomodation. Are there accomodations even in small towns in the east. I`m simply a little bit afraid of getting somewere by bus and than finding out, that I´ve to sleep on the street. I would be very thankful if anyone could helb me. Yours elenia |

It's fairly easy to get accommodation in private rooms along the coast (although I have not been there in August, maybe someone who has been can advise).
I think you may have trouble finding accommodation in Podgorica for 20€. Most tourists don't find much of interest in Podgorica, so unless you have a specific reason you may not need to stay there at night. It's only an hour or so from the coast anyway. Some of the smaller towns (e.g. Rozaje, Kolasin, Mojkovac) appear to have very little in the way accommodation, typically one rather dilapidated-looking hotel. Again this may be related to the time of year I was there, which was in April - too late for skiing and too early for summer. Sorry if this is a bit discouraging - Montenegro is a great place but sometimes takes a bit of effort outside the main tourist areas.
