hi
from gorizia station) take the bus to the casa rossa border (i think it was nr 8). cross the border on foot - then at the next crossroad, go left and cross the road... this is where the slovene bus will pick u up. buses don't go directly to the nova gorica train station - but ask to be let off at the hospital.. it's about 10 minutes walk to the station from there. have fun rh.

There is a new connection, lately. From Gorizia train station there is a coach to Nova Gorica Bus station. I don't know if bus staion and train station are far each other... sorry

The bus n° 1 goes from Gorizia station to Piazza Transalpina, just in front of the Nova Gorica station. It passes every 10 minutes. The problem is that you cannot cross the square because Slovenia is in the EU but not in the Schengen area (=free movement of people), so I think you should take the street on your right and follow it until you reach the border.
There is an international bus to Nova Gorica but it passes more rarely. I went from the station to the square on foot: it lasts some 20-30 mins.
