| Korcula | Efficient route - Venice to Korcula Posted: Sat June 26, 2004 05:12 PM UTC
Hey all,
So we're going from Venice to Korcula in late August. What's the fastest, most direct way to do that trip, in your opinions? We were thinking taking the train to Ancona, fast 4 hr. ferry from Ancona to Split, then another ferry to Korcula? Thoughts? Is there a cheaper, more efficient way? Thanks! |

Hi,
ferries from Split to Korcula always depart early in the morning, while SNAV catamaran from Ancona arrives to Split in the afternoon. This means you'll have to spend the night in Split - I hope you're aware of this. On Wednesdays Jadrolinija's overnight ferry from Ancona goes to Split and continues to Stari Grad and Korcula, so this would be most direct. Anyway, I agree travel via Ancona is the best option.
