| Bundaberg | Nude Beaches near Bundaberg Posted: Thu June 24, 2004 12:01 PM UTC
Hi,
Just looking for nude beaches on my holiday through QLD later this year. I saw some newspaper reports on a beach at Mon Repos. Is this an unofficial nude beach? Do police raid this beach? What about Coonar Beach? Is it nude? And perhaps Agnes Waters near 1770? Is it nude friendly? Are there any other nude beaches in the area? |

As I answered your MonRepos question in your other thread I will just give you info on the other sites you mention.
Coonar Beach: There are a handful of houses at Coonar and the residents all have eyes in the back of their heads (if you get my drift) and I would not suggest you try nude bathing in their area. Just south of Coonar Beach is a place called Palm Beach (within Kinkuna National Park). It is approx 8ks long but you do need 4x4 to access it. Palm Beach can be very busy with 4x4's on w'ends/public holidays but during the week you do have 8ks of beach with very little traffic and maybe a handful of campers spread over the entire length of the beach. National Park Rangers do patrol often but the area is so peaceful you can hear any vehicles coming a long way off and nude bathers do take advantage of this fact. The name Palm Beach may not show on your map but the beach has Coonar Ck to the north and Theodolite Ck to the south as it's boundaries. The road to Palm Beach is accessed via Coonar Rd but again I stress, it is 4x4 only. Do not attempt to drive this road in a 4x2! I will answer your other questions in another thread because I'm running out of room here :-)

Agnes Waters/1770 are heavily populated and again, no nude bathing. You may find an isolated beach within the National Park to the south of Agnes (access via Agnes or via Ruhl's Beach). The locals call the area Wreck Rock and it too is 4x4 only. Ruhl's Beach could be another option for you as it is fairly isolated and 4x2 only.
There are no "official" nude beaches in the area but I do know that local nudists do use these beaches but with discretion and keeping their ears open. I hope this helps you.

They are prob not nude beaches but barolin Rocks and Hoffman Rock dont get many people down there during the week, apart from some Scuba Divers now and then. Also River View is sandy and not many people go there
