I'm planning a 2 week trip to HongKong, YangShuo & Xi'an in late October. The trip can be from Xi'an, then YangShuo and to HongKong and can be vice versa.
Can anyone suggest to me which is the possible way to goto these 3 places within 2 weeks. What are the transport available from Xi'an to YangShuo? With such a short 2 week tour, I guess the only fastest way is to be on the domestic flight. Hope fella forumers would suggest something good which I can contain the costs, and have an enjoyable trip! Thanks. |

You won't be able to contain costs between Xi'an and Guilin as you'll need to take the flight. However from Yangshuo to Hong Kong the bus becomes your best friend with daily departures for the long trip to Guangzhou or even Shenzhen.
The Guangzhou trip is shorter and allows you to switch to more comfortable modes of transportation on to Hong Kong. The Shenzhen bus puts you right across the border from Hong Kong's New Territories. UPDATE: Passplanet.com reports that there is now a luxury coach going between Yangshuo and Kowloon twice a week (Tue, Fri) for 340 RMB departing from the Yangshuo Paradise Hotel.

Hi, there is a train betweem Guilin and xian but it does take about 20 hours.
The express bus from Yangshuo to Kowloon stopped operating 2 years ago because it was always empty. There are express buses from Yangshuo to Shenzhen and from there it is very easy to get to Kowloon or Central in Hong Kong. Any travel agency in Yangshuo can get you tickets see www.yangers.com for more details Cheers yangers

thanks for the news folks. Greatly appreciated. Looks like the trip this coming autumn is not to be missed! Well, probably I would spend 1 week in YangShuo & guilin, and from there I will travel to Xi'an to meet my folks. The journey of 20hrs on the railway... is Ok, at least to me.
Thanks for the wonderful link www.yanger.com, it provides loads of info about yangshuo.. and I'm looking forward to the trip! Will try to gather more information and post questions should there be a need, once again thanks all for the contributions!
