McLeod Ganj Travel Forum

Hello,

We are hoping to visit McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, Chamba, Kalpa, Sarahan, and the Sangla Valley (Sangla, Rakcham, Chitkul) in March 2005. What should we expect in terms of weather for that period of the year? Do you see any problems in going to these places? What other places inside Himachal Pradesh would you highly recommend in March and why? We enjoy day hikes, love beautiful mountain scenery, and appreciate meeting friendly people. We don't plan to go on trekking expeditions.

March will be perfect,although the season starts From April.
Apart from the places you mentioned,I would suggest you can Manali for best beauitiful mountain scenery.

If you really want to see the scenic beauty of Himachal please visit KAZA , TABO ,. You can come directly from McLeodgang to Manali & from manali take the following route :- Manali-----Rohtang pass---Losar---Kunzum Pass---Kaza ---- Kye monestry ----kibber---Tabo (called the Ajanta of Himalaya for some great old paintings in the walls of the Tabo monestry)-----Nako lake----Kalpa-Sangla ---Chitkul-----Sarahan-----Jaloripass---Kullu/Manikaran----Delhi. On the way to Tabo from Kaza you can visit Pin-Parbati Valley to see snow leopards, ibex etc. For moredetails visit
