Vienna, Austria: Best place...
Posted: Sun June 13, 2004 02:45 PM UTC
Hello everybody!!!

This question just pop-up on my mind while updating my pages… why not I ask VT members? Here it goes, my friend and his husband will be going to Vienna, Austria this coming June 26… do you have any suggestion where to go and best place for them to see this beautiful country?awesome place while their in Vienna or maybe near or around Austria?

Any suggestion if you have any is deeply appreciated and plenty of thanks from my friend and me. If only I could join then on this trip I would love to meet VT members as well. Sad to say I can’t join maybe next time.

Thank you very much,
Milet

there are lots to see in vienna - st. stephen's cathedral (and other churches as well), belvedere palace, schronbrunn palace, stadtpark, spanish riding school, rathaus, parliament, the ring, hapsburg, opera house, prater, danube river, etc. just ask for a map and indicated therein are the popular places to visit.

as a side trip, i suggest going to baden bei wien. around 30 minutes train ride and the "town" is worth "walking around". there is a rose garden, casino, and parks.

if they have more time, visit Salzburg - 3 hour train ride - remember the sound of music?

p.s. don't forget to ask them to go to schwedenplatz, walking distance from st. stephen's. when facing the church, take the street to the left going down, at the end of the road, turn right and some steps away is an ice cream parlor - ais salon - sells the creamiest ice cream i've tasted so far - any flavor will do.

Vienna is one of the cities I love most. I have posted some tips in my Vienna page that I think may be useful to any new visitor. Why not have a look there? By the way, unlike many other VT members I like posting recommendations of restaurants.
