| Herceg-Novi | NEEDED URGENTLY Posted: Sun June 13, 2004 02:10 PM UTC
I am trying desperately to find detailed bus/ train schedules from:
1) Herceg Novi, Montenegro to... 2) Skopje, Macedonia to... 3) Athens, Greece. Wish it was simple, alas I am stuck! I'm in Dubrovnik, Croatia right now. Thanks for your help. |

Lonely Planet says there should be a daily bus at 11am to the Montenegrin border, where another bus will take you on to Herceg Novi. From there you can get a bus Kotor and from there a bus to Podgorica. There you can get a taxi to the Albanian border, get an A. taxi on the other side to Shkoder, then a bus to Tirana (i think there's three a day) a daily bus to Tetevo and a local bus on to Skopje. From Skopje you should be able to find more info for getting on to Athens.
That is probably the most direct route for you, assuming that you're wanting to avoid kosovo, as is probably advisable if you're on your own. If you want to leave our Heceg Novi then go straight up to Sarajevo and get a bus to Skopje from there, it'll probably be quicker. Hope this helps Deborah

Hi, hope i am not late with the answer. It is very easy. Take a bus to ulqin or and there is bus leaving for kosovo every night at 1900 or 2000 CEST. you'll be in prishtina early in the morning and then you'll have bus to skopje at 0330,0530,0630,0745,0800 and arrive in skopje for an hour and half. ticket from ulqin to prishtina should cost no more than 15 euro/25 euro (single/round trip) and from prishtina to skopje 5 euro. From skopje there is bus and train going every 2-3 hrs and to thessaloniki ticket should cost around 25 round trip,if you nees any other info pls let me know.
